Re: Loose hi/Lo selector lever
Thanks Sandy The range lever is beside the throttle lever and looks just the same only about 90mm longer. The play is definitely between the lever and shaft. There is no gap which would indicate that it is a clamp type lever. If I could get the lever off, maybe I could get a clamp type lever or mod...

Re: changing clutch
Is it a very late County Super 6 because it has the later engine in it and not the 590E that most were fitted with?? County it is believed bought up a years supply of skid units when Ford announced they were discontinuing production of the Major range, and this enabled this model of County to be pr...

hydraulic pump overhaul
Hi,
I was looking at the drawing of the hydraulic pump and there are only a few seals in there:
2 o -rings: 4,197"id 0,103" thick (partnr 116513-es)
and 1 seal: 11/16'' x 1 1/8'' x 1/4'' (partnr e97-gf-9)
Is this a difficult job and worth looking at? Anyone done this before?

Re: Tachometer cable too short for for my boat! help please
Thanks very much Mathias, I would say that's early 74 but not easy to tell with what I know about Ebro at the moment. Do you have the exhauster type pump? If not you could have used the normal minimec unit. Do you have the number under injector no. 4 and casting codes too (Chris' pics show their lo...

Re: some oil leaks
argh update on this one. There is a small crack in the cilinder head which causes the leak of coolant. I replaced the rubbers on the breather pipe and so far so good. And for the gearbox seals. I did manage to replace the PTO seal in the gearbox, but same result. This means it's splitting time. I've...

Re: changing clutch
this thread has been a while. I'm almost at the end of the job.
Engine has been fully rebuild and new clutch is installed.
Just need to put the engine back in the tractor and reinstall radiator and stuff.
Did take a lot of pictures, will post them when I got it all done.

Re: Tachometer cable too short for for my boat! help please
no tacho on my tractor with ebro engine. my engine number is *180924*
You need to know the nut sizes probably 5/8" on both sides?
There are cables that go to 1,75meter. Maybe you can move the tacho a bit closer to the engine?

Ricardo,
if arms are slowly dropping, changing pump will not be the solution.
You can always test the pump with a pressure gauge

I have the first print of the sales brochure 11/51 "By Appointment to His Majesty King George VI" with the flat drawbar and flick over brake latch and there is no mention of the raised PTO as an optional extra in that. I have the first print of the operator's manual January 1952 again with the flat...

Wow you have been busy.
Need to ckeck if the oil scrapers, they might have done sime damage to the cilinder bore.
Are you going to refurbish the head also?
I m working on a simular engine now. And I m also doing the rear crank seal. It just seems to hold down the crank from spinning.

Yes assistor rams were available. Don't know if all were fitted with them.DxtaCnty42 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 7:10 amWere the Super 6's not supposed to come standard with a booster cylinder?
They used a sort of bridge connection between the arm and linkage. I don't think they changed the lifting arms.

Re: Halfshaft identification and seal help
I’ve done some super rear axles in the past where I needed to modify the seal housings due to the exact same problem. Just cut of the exces part and have no further notice. Did work for me and it sealed also. I assumed it were heavy duty ones as well. Couldn’t get the right type of seal for these o...

Thanks for your replies that photo is exactly the same as mine with the collar attached to the shaft. Can I ask how you modified the seal to fit as it won’t go far enough onto the shaft to fit about almost 10mm further out to the other side with the standard super major shaft on. I did cut off the ...
