Mark P, Your old Bearings will have the numbers stamped in to them and those numbers are still current. Inner Cup and Cone should be stamped 350 & 352. Outer Cup and Cone should be stamped 14118 & 14282. Check your Outers as there was a change made towards the end. Hoffman, Timken, SKF, etc., all us...

Andrew, From what you describe, I would be inclined to think that the previous owner may be the culprit by grinding too much from the valve stem. I have never come across a totally worn out lifter. The usual wear to them is from the valve stem continually hitting the lifter, and this can wear a dip ...

Keith, I can't find anything on the size of the battery leads. I have a couple of original leads here and they are not overly thick. The original earth lead was not wire, it was 8 strips of thin metal, approx. 1 inch wide with a terminal soldered on one end. The other end just has a hole drilled for...

Tim, I can't add much more than Frank. He has covered it quite well. The Starter Button is quite common as it was used on Austin & Ford Trucks. In later years it became the Horn Button for the New Major. Your Starter Motor should have a solonoid on the end of it. This means you can start it by press...

Hi JC, I have a photo of an International RDF 405 and it is stated as having a 300 HP Cummins NHRBS-600 engine. Originally it could have been purchased with a Fuller or Spicer Transmission and an Eaton or Timken Rear Axles. GCW was 76800lbs, had a frame 10" deep, exterior air cleaner mounted on the ...

Hi Guys, Stick with a Series 2 SAE 30 or 40 (for Kerosene engine) and you won't go wrong. Don't confuse Universal Engine Oil with Universal Fluid. Fluid is a rear end and hydraulic oil only. Whereas Universal Oil can be used in rear ends, engine, trans, and hydraulics. It is more suited to tractors ...

Hi Super68, The two books that came with the Roadmaster Grader were a Spare Parts List and a Operator's Handbook. Anything to do with the Perkins Diesel was in the Workshop Manual supplied by Perkins. The rest of the tractor was in a Parts List and Instruction Book supplied by Ford. Was there anythi...

Gerry, I use Castrol CRB30 in the Fordson Diesel and the Perkins P6 Diesel, and CRB40 in the Kerosene Engines. I have a flyer here issued by Castrol which states Castrol CRB is replaced by Castrol Tection 30 and Tection 40. Another good oil is Mobil Delvac 1230D. A few years ago both these oils woul...

Martijn, All E27N Tractors sold in Australia, either Petrol/Kerosene or Diesel, had a Brass Instruction Plate attached. It could be on either mudguard or the tool box. The 1945 Model had it attached to the Dash. Apart from the heavy cast wheels Australian P6's had Primary & Secondary Fuel Filters, r...

Priestley, Can you tell us what parts you are looking for. I had three crawlers, two P6's and a Kero, and sold the last of them last year. I may have a couple of new clutch carriers. Parts for crawlers are scarse and people that have them, are a bit reluctant to part with them (they all have the hop...

Wayne, The centre beam for the front axle carried the E27N number right up until the end of 1960. As for the Tacho, it was approx. Feburary 1956 when the Tacho was first factory fitted. The exception to this was Australian tractors, and these were fitted from day one, but on the Left Hand side rathe...

Dandy Dave, There was a Company in Australia called 'Southcott Engineering' who manufactured rear belt pulleys to suit the E27N. These were usually used where the tractor had been fitted with a Overdrive or Underdrive transmission fitted between the Clutch and Gear Box. When this OD/UD was fitted, t...
