Jon & Matt, I gather you are talking about the Alloy type pump for the P6, as the cast iron pump is straight forward to repair. There is a company in the UK called 'Forge Services' who will rebuild Alloy pumps and Cast pumps for the p6, and if you live overseas they will sell you a rebuild kit. Hope...

I can't locate anything on the New Major, but the E27N had a lift capacity of 3248lbs and the Dexta had a lift capacity of 1850lbs max.

Carl,
I have now checked an L4 Ring Gear, and it has 126 teeth.
Question - Has your conversion got the correct Flywheel, etc., as there were different Flywheels and maybe different Ring Gears.

Carl,
Both the Perkins P6 & L4 use the CAV BS-512 Starter. Both are fitted with an 11 tooth Pinion. The P6 has 122 teeth on the Ring Gear. I am sorry I can't tell you how many on the L4. Perhaps you need to get an Auto-electrician to check out your Starter.

The short answer is no, they are not interchangeable. I've posted two photos, one of the bracket on the P6 and the other one on the Kero.

Do not use EP, HD or GX 90 in the Gear Box and Rear Transmission of your E27N. The additives in these oils can eat the leather seals and pit the bronze bushes, you need to use a GL1 Mineral SAE90.

Moretoot, The type of Grille did make a difference on the P6. The main problem was Perkins Specifications for the P6 was a Fan of 17 inches. Because of space constrictions, the E27N was shortened to 14 inches, and that's where all the problems began. The problem usually arose when the tractor was on...

E45NP6,
The badge you refer to (37-41) is the Horse Power of the tractor. 37 is Belt H.P. and 41 is Drawbar H.P. They would have been fitted on most P6's regardless of what State they were assembled in, as they show in the 1951 AUstralian Parts Supplement as fitted to all P6's.

Henk,
I think this tractor may have started life as a Muir-Hill Shunter. It is an Industrial tractor and the linkage on the back is for the brakes. Therefore, the wheels are probably original as are the mudguards.
Did Brian tell you I found a Rest-o-ride seat!
