Re: Australian serial numbers

The numbers V007004P and V007003P have been stamped on the tractor by the Victorian Police. The tractor has been taken to a Police Station for a Registration and Victoria Police would never accept the fact that there was no such thing as a Chassis Number on the Fordson, so gave it one. They obviousl...

Re: Water in motor!!

Pav,

Is this the outlet on your tractor? If so, it was only fitted to Australian tractors. The pair of ears at the top were to secure the Spark Arrestor. It was done to meet the Country Fire Authority Act.

Re: Cast Aluminium Steering wheel

Robert, To answer your question, all E27N's in Australia had the standard size steering wheel (there were 9000 E27N's sold in Australia in 1949). However, there were six variations of the steering wheel between 1945 and 1954. The price I quoted just reflected the difference of the Model parts. When ...

Re: Cast Aluminium Steering wheel

Robert, I have been awhile chasing this up, but I have gone through 700 odd pages of Part Numbers, Supersession Lists and Parts & Accessories Catalogues. There is nothing mentioned of an aluminium steering wheel for the New Major in any of the publications. The only interesting bit to show, was that...

Re: Cast Aluminium Steering wheel

Nick,
The aluminium steering wheel was very common on the E27N but were not fitted to the New Major. If you measure the diameter it will probably be 17 inches, whereas the New Major had an 18 inch diameter steering wheel.

Scoobyjim, Perkins P6 Engines that were designed to rev at up to 1500rpm were fitted with cast iron pistons. Engines that revved above that were fitted with light alloy pistons. There were no E27N's originally fitted with Alloy pistons. However, most Dealers that completely rebuilt a P6 replaced the...

Dandy Dave,
The Model F was produced in Cork Ireland between 1919 and 1922. A total of 7,597 tractors were built in this time. I have the Engine Numbers, if anyone is interested.
Of interest, Ford traded as 'Henry Ford & Son. Cork. Ireland' rather than the 'Ford Motor Company of Ireland'.

Re: Fuel Filters P6

Kev,

The Fuel Filter Elements are as I quoted previously, and the Oil Filter Element will be a Fram CH810PL.

If you have trouble getting the Fram Filter, then a Fleetguard LF599 is okay to use. But, you must have it in the wire cage.

Re: Fuel Filters P6

Kev, The Filters for your P6 are as follows:- Primary Element CAV 7019-68. Secondary Element MAHL KX44. This element suits the BFA11 housing. If the Secondary Housing is marked BFA5 use a Fleetguard FF146. The Housings will be stamped, you may need to clean the tops with a wire brush to get numbers....
