Re: fuel line won't bleed

My old power major drove me nuts with a similar problem several years ago. I would be driving it, usually down the highway between properties, to do topping, and it would quit. I'd get off. Tickle the pump lever and it would start and run again. Well, one day while sitting in the shed it refused to ...

Now that's a true statement if I ever heard one. You can never get lost on an old Fordson as it will leave a trail to follow where ever it goes. Dandy Dave!

Glad to hear. :buddies: Get it to move all the way around and then pull the pistons and check the rings in the cylinder bore for wear.

Yes. I have the valve cover off of it and have started it and don't see any leaks in any of the blead off lines. And yes. This is the 4 Cylinder American version that was only built for a few years. Dandy Dave!

1964 Ford 4000 driving me nuts..

Been helping a buddy with a 1964 Ford 4000. It is a 4 cylinder model built between 1962 and 1965. Leaking fuel into to the oil pan. What I have done. Got a rebuilt injection pump. Had to take it back as it had some striped screws in the timing mark cover. Repaired or replaced as necessary. Brought i...

Re: Ford Backhoe Loader Model Help.

Thanks for looking it up. I think maybe a 2 or a 4 is missing from the first digit. Not sure if Industrial Fords fell under a different number system? Serial number would make it a 1964 if it is a 4000. Dandy Dave!

Ford Backhoe Loader Model Help.

Helping a buddie with an old Ford Loader backhoe. Looking around the web I think it may be a 4000 It looks similar to that style/series but none of the numbers match up with the info that I have found. Stamped on the left side bell housing is 1400DS, Serial 42011. It is a Diesel tractor. Thanks, Dan...

Fordson F Steering wheel rim size.

I came across a Bakelite steering wheel rim recently and think it may be off of a Fordson Model F. If one of you with a Model F could be kind enough to measure the wheel and give me dimensions I will see if that it what I think it is. I use to have some model F's but have gotten rid of all of them a...

Re: mid mounted mower - almost there

Nice Job. Those mid mount mowers were common over here on the smaller Gasoline/ Petrol Ford tractors. 9N/2N/8N /NAA and some of the number series in the 1950's. The Apple orchard farmers like them for mowing under the fruit trees better then the rear mount type that was more commonly seen for mowing...

Re: 57 major

When I put wet sleeves in a block I often use a silicone gasket maker to help the sleeves slide in and also take care of any small imperfections in the sealing areas. When it is like grease right out of the tube it helps from tearing the O-rings. When it sets, it is still pliable and would have seal...

Re: post hole borer success

That looks like a real heavy duty unit. Most of the ones I've seen, and used, hook right in the 3 point hitch arms. As long as you have a proper sheer bolt in the right place you should be good to go without tearing up the tractor inners. Should be a grade 3 bolt in the drive line. If someone put in...
