Perkins P6 engine trouble
Do the do the clutch retaining bolts for an E27N P6 have a torque value? Or is it a case of do up evenly and tight ?

Hank, thats OK mate all good. Interested in the second gauge temp gauge you have im sure i could have a face printed and fitted no worries. All i got with my P6 was a brass pole and hollow shell! so anythings better then that. Ill take what ever oil gauge you find on the wheat belt no worries. Yeah ...

Hmmmmm, interesting. I'm looking to replace my P6's hydraulics with an original Smiths single lever unit, as it is fitted with a new majors unit currently. I have the high top gear STD 4.3 ratio. Does that mean i'm going to need to source one from an E27N that also has a STD 4.3 gearbox?

Cleaned up the gearbox/bellhousing area where it is stamped STD 4.3 looking for more numbers, but failed to find any. The gearbox is has two sets of casting numbers on it: F24P on top of the gear lever, and 270 7007B/C on the same side stamped by hand? towards the bottom. Hope this is of some help. ...

Frank were these pistons you purchased cast alloy or cast iron?
really interested in knowing actually, would be good to have a set spare.
Cast alloy pistons give the engine a different tune, and i like the one my P6 has at the moment.

Can i ask what size rims you used?
from my measurments Lucas pattern 6 1/2 inch rim should do the job, im also going to purchase a new set of 6 1/2 inch reflectors as well.
