Hi,
I think you are probably talking about the stop lever, it should have the pull to stop cable attached.

It doesn't take long to split, bolt will probably fall out as soon as you open a gap.

Re: stuck in reverse issue
Hi AlexB, Most probably the gear lever has come out of the selector forks. You need to undo the 4 bolts on the gear lever plate and lift off the gear levers, you will find that one of the selectors is out of alignment and you need to get it back into the centre. You should be able to place the botto...

Introduction of the Fordson Dexta
Hi All,
Follow the link to a film by Ford introducing the "new fordson dexta", worth a look.
And just to re-ignite a very contentious subject, all the dextas featured have ORANGE GRILLES !!
https://youtu.be/tblSxwFGzPk
Happy viewing.

Ha ha, that brings back memories to me as well. My uncle charlie had one of those grey things and I remember sitting on his knee and being allowed to steer, must have been in the very early sixties.......he saw sense later on and bought a dexta

Re: dexta draft control setting
Hi, Here is a quote from the wiki pages written by Brian explaining the procedure without using the special tool - Qualitrol (Draft) Control adjustment. This must be done before Position Control Adjustment. Move the lift arms to the fully up position. (As the lift is on its back this will mean that ...

Hi Gerald,
Thank you, I will await your message. The 2 faces are definitely not a mirror finish, so I guess that is the problem, I think someone has been in there before me.

Re: Dexta injectors.
Hi All, I too have a need for one injector for my vineyard dexta, same problem as yours Mervyn, there is a leak from between the 2 parts and for the life of me I cannot see why, I've had it apart several times and compared it with the 2 good ones but still can't see what the problem is. Once Mervyn ...

Re: Injector Pump Leak Off Pipe
Hi Charlie,
You could maybe try putting a pigtail in the pipe, certainly all the Simms pumps have a pigtail, must be there for a reason although I don't actually know what the reason is.

Re: Underslung or Vertical Exhaust?
Hi, I will give you a few comparisons as I have a dexta with the standard type vertical exhaust and my recently acquired vineyard dexta with an underslung exhaust. The vertical exhaust is definitely noisier while driving, it is surprising how much quieter the underslung is. I can get the underslung ...

Re: Dexta lift delayed reaction
Hi again, Here is an extract from my previous post about my hydraulics. Just to prove the oil pump was ok I turned the engine over on the starter with the top cover off and plenty oil came up through the port in the casing. When I had the top cover off I didn't look at the unload valve or the check ...

Re: Dexta lift delayed reaction
Hi, Could be the unload valve, there is an O ring on the valve that deteriorates over time and glues itself to the valve bore. Sounds like your O ring might be sticky and when left for a while it sticks in the bore then frees off, sometimes they stick completely and the valve can't then move in whic...

You could use a silicon adhesive type product to glue it back in place, there is a wide choice on the market nowadays and some are very good.

Hi All, SAE30 oil arrived the other day so duly filled up back end to the level plug, put the top cover back.......still no hydraulics. Re: Vineyard Dexta
Hi Blackbob, Yes I took my Dexta with me from Cullen - it's an old friend, I bought it at the 2006 January machinery sale at Thainstone and I wouldn't want to part with it now. It was registered in the Alford area so definitely Aberdeenshire registration. Took it over on my trailer which turned a fe...

Hi All, Thought I would share some photos of my newly acquired vineyard Dexta. There was a post recently on the forum from someone trying to sell a Dexta Narrow on behalf of a friend in France. Hi Mervyn,
I had a look on the wiki but they are not available there, they used to be on the website before it was cut down to what it is now. I will send you a pm with my e mail address and perhaps you could e mail the list to me if possible please, I'd like to have a copy of the complete list.
