Re: 59 power major fuel lift pump repair
Morning to everyone in the fordson world. If I get the brake job done on the car I hope to start my girl up today. 44, mine did the same, was fine and then was stuck, probably the cold winter you had this year, condensation gets into the oils if your tractor is not inside. You should be putting some...

Re: 59 power major fuel lift pump repair
Hey 44, try bleeding your system all the way to the injector pump to make sure fuel is there. Did you run out of fuel before this started? The rack or control rod may be stuck. Others on here are much more knowledgeable than me. I think DD has a 59PM but don't see him post that often anymore, could ...

Re: 59 power major fuel lift pump repair
Hey 44, like I said I'm more of a learner on here but the filter is on top of the fuel line coming out of the tank. If you are getting fuel into the bowl I would bleed the system to make sure fuel is getting to injector pump. Simple process, just be careful with the screws you bleed on the fuel filt...

Re: 59 power major fuel lift pump repair
Hello 44. If you read most of my posts, you will see I"m usually asking questions but I have a 59 PM and had same problem a few years back when I got her running again. Are you sure it is the lift pump? Is fuel getting to the pump, if not could be the tank filter, this is in the tank. You can take t...

Thanks Brian, never knew about this oil. Can I drain out old oil and put in new? I have some 80wt gear oil and I believe I read this is what I should use. Seems I learn something new about my girl as time goes on, every time I'm looking around I find another grease nipple. I want to learn how to get...

Re: steering problem
There is a filler/level plug on the left side of the steering box. A so & so to get at with an oil container. I used an oil squirt can. Must say, though, it sounds a bit like a ball bearing gone crook. Pavel Hello to all around the fordson world. For the guys north of me keep the fire going, looks ...

Re: hydraulic problem
Welcome Jordan. You have found a great site for help on fordsons. With no external leaks then it could be the seal, cracked pump like I had or maybe a good cleaning of filter. Others on here know a lot more then I but look up my post on this subject and it may help some. Good luck.

Hi 6k, I believe there are some push rods in a box in my collection of parts, not sure. They are from a 56/57 major, I believe the same engine in my pm, not sure if the same as you need. Let me know if these are what you need and I will look for them.

Hello to all around the fordson world. I saw this post and I did not see where I told that I took the filter element out. Used a good degreaser and then with power washer flushed it out from top to bottom. Element shined like new. All of my cleaning really made her run better and also noticed better...

Nothing like the smell of fresh dirt or cut wood. I love to smell a wood fire when it gets cold something about it just warms you. Good luck to all. Dave, a quick request. Re: Help with serial number and age
Hello 6k. The numbers you list look like part numbers and casting codes, not serial number. Look at Dave's picture as to where the serial number is on your tractor. A picture of your tractor would help. Look at the home page on this site, bottom left and there are listings of numbers, manuals etc. G...

Re: Brake Parts and questions
Thanks Adrian, the block and tackle seems to be the way to go for me with the Power Major having wheel weights. If I remove the whole assembly will I need new seals or just a gasket? I do not have any oil leaks around the brakes at this time. I will go back and look at the pictures and I may be able...

Re: Wiring Route
Is the wiring, regulator etc. on a 56 Major and a 59 Power Major similar except for the location under the dash on the Major? My Power Major needs work in this area also and wondering if I could use the parts from the Major?
Thanks to all.
Thanks to all.

Re: Brake Parts and questions
Hello to all. I have been following this thread and wanted to ask if you have to remove back wheels in order to work on brakes? Not sure with the wheel weights and all if I could handle taking them off. This is something I need to work on since I do most of my work on a hill and no brakes when going...

Re: Raised PTO Shaft removal
Hello to all. Look at my post on raised pto, it might help. It is an easy removal. The housing is just bolted on to rear end, it should be disengaged from the pto shaft to remove. After the housing is removed, the pto shaft slides out just as easy as a regular pto shaft. Good luck.
