Re: Red E27N

Hi, I visited the JCB factory in the UK last year and every now and again on the assembly line you would see a different coloured JCB amongst all the usual yellow colour, the guide explained that these were special order machines for some Local Authorities and/or customers specific requirements. The...

E27N Weight

Hi,

I cannot find the answer on the board so can anyone tell me the weight of a standard E27N, I would immagine it to be heavier than the E1A Major which I believe to be 2.25ton.

Define Vintage/Classic

Hi guys,

Can anyone clearly define the dates for classifying Vintage and Classic tractors, there are various thoughts and dates being circulated that I'm not sure who or what to believe.

"The Major gets a Workmate"

Hi, Has anyone got a photo or a print of the Fordson publicity poster where the Major and Dexta stand next to each other with the drivers shaking hands and the caption " The Major gets a Workmate" I would love to print a photo of this when I exhibit my Major and Dexta next to each other. Regards, Ba...

Re: Photograph of my Grandfather

Borkmeister, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, the Fordson F was manufactured from 1917 - 1928 initially in America until 1919 when production was moved to Cork, Ireland. You can immediately recognise the American Fs by the distinct ladder like formation of the grill side plates, the tr...

Re: Photograph of my Grandfather

Borkmeister,

That's a Fordson model F, and from the photo I would say it's the model built in Cork, Ireland.

It came at a knock down price Brian, could not refuse, it's a handy little thing. Dave I will try what you have suggested as the problem is the slow cranking. It's a 1948 TEA.

Re: What should I look for

Dandy Dave, Thanks for the information, most helpful, I've got a few good photos printed from that website which will help me when I go to have a look at this tractor. Is there any particular spot on the block to check for cracks, do they tend to crack in any specific areas like some other tractors ...

What should I look for

Hi, What should I look for on a Fordson F prior to making an offer, it's a non runner and has been for a considerable number of years, it's barn stored now but has been outside in a coastal location for many years, I'm led to believe it's not seized up!! I'm not even sure whether it's complete or no...

Brian,

Have you seen the article in the current Ford & Fordson Tractor magazine, I'm sure it's of interest to you as it's about Fordson dealers in your area including J J Wright.
