Re: Old girl won't start
Thanks Pavel. Didn’t realise they had oil in them. What came out didn’t look like oil. Anyway, full flush and refill completed. Still didn’t fix it. Removed the injector pipes and cranked her over. Small amount of fuel coming out. Didn’t think that was enough to run an engine this big. About to pull...

Re: Old girl won't start
Afternoon all. Checked fuel flow. All good to the injection unit. When i crack the bleed screw and turn the engine i get good diesel flow. I have the mushroom air cleaner on and secure so, i agree, not much water would get in that way. Bled some diesel and checked, no water in the tank. I cracked no...

Old girl won't start
Good afternoon all. I wss using my 63 super major yesterday with no problems. Got tired so shut her down and left her in the paddock overnight. Had a bit of rain but nothing to worry about. Get up this morning and she wont start. Cranks ok, bled the fuel but no smoke or attempt at running. Does anyo...

Removing the front crank pulley
Afternoon all.
Christmas job is to repair the leaking front crank seal on my old 64 super major. Just wondering if there’s a trick to get the pulley off the end of the crankshaft so I can take the timing cover off?
Thanks in advance.

Leaking front crank seal
Evening all. Took the old girl for a spin today and noticed a leak at the front of the engine. On further inspection it looks to be coming from the front of the crank. I found it funny that there is still a point for a starter handle even though the radiator makes it pointless. Anyway, my question i...

Re: Idiots guide
Hi All Well i have managed to get the old girl running. Turns out the fuel pump leaking is causing air to go into the fuel injection and locking me up. Cracking the bleed screw on the injection and a few good cranks and shes running. New pump ordered to get rid of the problem once and for all. Thank...

Re: Idiots guide
Hi All. Well the first attempt was a bust. She cranked good enough but not so much as a cough. Checked the fuel and noted that nothing was getting to the engine. Traced the fuel and it appears to be getting to the injector unit but not beyond. I asked the previous owner and he said i had to crack th...

Thanks for the replies. You have no idea how many google searches I've done to find this out.
Heading out tomorrow so I'll give it a go.
Will let you know.

Idiots guide
Afternoon all, I have just bought a hobby farm and it came with a 1964 Super Major. I have been advised that it works ok but i have no idea how to start it. As its 50+ years old, all of the markings have gone. It needs a good battery which i am buying this week to take out, 1100CCA should do. I only...
