Bonnet for Super Dexta 1964
I have come to a full stop on restoring this tractor as it came with 1/2 a Super D bonnet, air cleaner side and the other half was a Dexta bonnet! I ended up buying a repro bonnet from E bay, big mistake as did not fit!! I then bought a Dexta bonnnet from an Auction site who advertised the bonnet as...

Re: Hand Throttle Lever Slips, Fan eats radiator shroud
Hi Thanks for all the replies. I will try the trick with the leather for the throttle!! The radiator is a different story. The original shroud was badly chewed and there was nothing to stop the radiator leaning back. I now have a piece of wood against the radiator pipe stabilised against the water p...

Hand Throttle Lever Slips, Fan eats radiator shroud
I have a Fordson Super Dexta, it has had a total rebuild and works very well now, apart from a slipping throttle lever, the friction pad has gone hard and looks to be made of compressed felt. Does anybody suggest better materials??? Also the Radiator does lean back into the shroud which has lead to ...

Re: Super Dexta 1964 Handbrake only brakes Right wheel
Hi all!, Thanks for all the helpful hints! I’m not 100% sure what helped the most but by jiggling the left hand shoe again, readjusting the brakes again so they come on at the same time and slackening the adjustment bolt which works against the hand brake I now seem to have a hand brake!! Not exactl...

Re: Super Dexta 1964 Handbrake only brakes Right wheel
I have dismantled the left side hub as I was told jiggling it around may help. I must admit for a fraction of a second it may have worked but then off course I have to adjust the brakes again to even them up! I do have some images and will post them up when I have worked out how!

Re: Super Dexta 1964 Handbrake only brakes Right wheel
Hi Did of course have the brake pedals locked! I am intrigued with Sandy reply as I wish I could find more on this! So my understanding is that the adjustable cam for the foot pedal braking affect which in this case seems seized / rusted to the shaft should be adjusted to be 0.1 from the cam of the ...

Super Dexta 1964 Handbrake only brakes Right wheel
Hi Got the electrics fixed and foot brakes work well, but handbrake pull up ratchet only brakes the right hand wheel. Had read somewhere that you have to use foot brake first and then apply handbrake but once again this only works on the right hand side. Have checked manuals, forums etc but can’t se...

Help please!! Battery still on when switch off
I have a Fordson Super Dexta with new wiring loom and Control box from Agriline, 2 years ago. It gave me seemingly good service until recently. My son destroyed the engine last year and I have eventually rebuilt it. We eventually got it started 2 weeks ago and warmed it up before retightening cylind...

Re: Timing Fordson Super Dexta 1964
Hi It is a mechanical Minimec. So should 20degree be between the marking for TDC and SPILL. If so does ant know how many teeth on the flywheel should it be from either mark?? And secondly is it normal for the mark to be missing? I have found that with the SPILL mark lined up it corresponds with the ...

Re: Timing Fordson Super Dexta 1964
Hi
I have been round the flywheel again and the only lines visible are TDC, followed by the Spill line. This is then followed by 0400.304 which is approx 180degrees from TDC. I’ve tried cleaning it up with clutch and break cleaner but these other marks don’t seem to be there?
Thanks for any help!

Timing Fordson Super Dexta 1964
Hi, I have looked through the topics and must be missing something. I seem to have only TDC and Spill marked on my flywheel. I have not been able to find the 20 or 26 marked. Do I just set the pump from the Spill mark on this 1964 Super. Everything I have seen suggests that I should find these other...
