ID of pistons in block

Hi There Having pulled the head on the NP motor(1968) in my super for replacement of leakey headgasket,I wondered if the pistons could be the originals. There seems to be no markings on their crowns apart from an "arrow-head" pointing toward the front/timing end of the motor. The liners dont seem to ...

Re: Vacume vs. Minimec governers

Hywel I am also interested in keeping her as original as posible but the thing is the engine has been replaced with a new perf.unit which is not so "original" for a 61 super i think. My plan is to retro-fit her with an early super engine that i have which has a mechanical governer which i am keen on...

Re: Vacume vs. Minimec governers

Hello,
I am going to start looking for a "donor" for my super`-vacume conversion, and it would therefore be a great help if someone could help me with the serial number of the right pump for it.

Re: ID of "new" tractor.

Hi Mathias
found these marks on gearbox left side, D17F and T2. And under seat, D2 and i think 501.
How much would an industrial engine differ from its agricultural relative ? are industrial units less desirable?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Super or not.

Well now she`s home now my super and I have a good gut feeling about her :D There is an issue whith the lift though, the lift handle can only move about 1 inch or so upwards from bottom of the quadrant. This causes the liftarms to climb to max raised posistion,if I let go af the handle it pops back do...

Re: Super or not.

Hi Charlie With 6 majors you should know the difference! From what i have seen i would think the vacume tractors regulator is much the same as used on diesel car and light trucks of the same period whilst the minimec looks more like something used on stationary engines like power-generators and othe...
