Update!! Your lift is different to mine which is a super.I see this now thanks to Billy!!
Bit still,if you have the lift off again you could try the compressed air to help find leaks.

Re: Major Diesel Lift Arms Drop
The bush I refered to is on the end of the lift cylinder partly covered by a small steel plate, the screw holding the plate plate fits the thread in the bush and is good for pulling the bush out.The Lift will have to come off again to do this Sorry!

This bush Can get loose in time causing a leak. Problem is easy to diagnose if liftcylinder is on the workbench,si...

Re: Trailer behind a Major?
Hello
For pulling heavy loads on the roads and in rough terrain i would prefer a trailer with wheels at the rear,as you put more weight on the tractors rear end. That is better for braking And pulling.

Re: Oil Light
Looking through the Oil fill cap hole, you Can check to see if lubeoil is reaching the rocker arm bearings.if it does you will have enough pressure to use the tractor.

Re: Bleeder screw washer
Leeroy if it were my pump I would giv her a solid shot of clean engine into the cambox, screw on the cover(with the new gasket) as you chant “hail Mary”,and with a bit of luck you will have a trouble free pump the next 10-20 years

Re: Low engine revs + air cleaning issue
If Soukup needs the tractor now could he not just soak his mesh-element in lubeoil and after allowing the excess to drip off fit it in the filter housing without filling the bowl.
He would then have a filter similar to many classic cars and bikes. No risk of sucking oil!

Re: Timing issue/Flywheel install
On my super which is a minimec type i Am currently running a vacume unit.when i was setting her up i found that the coupling had to be retarded to near the limit of ajustment before the timing was right.
90 degrees still seems WAY out though?

Re: Ready for first start since overhaul.
Never run engine without coolant added,
Test run to normal temp then re-torque,
Compression should build when pistonrings bed in.
How do you turn it, with the fan belt or fan?

Re: fuel lift pump questions
Just had same issue with my liftpump (glassbowl type) Had some slow starts at the onset of winter and decided to rebuild the leaky old liftpump. Turned out the rebuild kit route would cost about the same as a new unit which the dealer had in stock🤙 The new pump did NOT cure the slow starting which t...
