Next question: Does anyone know where I can obtain one of these copper shims as I can't see mention of it in the parts list and it's not shown on the exploded diagram. Also, from what is on eBay, it seems there are a few of these timing covers. Can anyone tell me what the differences are between NV3...

Brilliant ! That explains it, I couldn't help wondering if there was something there originally that someone has left out when they put it back together at some point.

Just stripping down my dexta block and noticed that the timing case cover has been heavily corroded behind the pump. So much so that I'll either have to tig a new bit in or replace it with another item. I am watching a couple of these on eBay and notice that they don't have any evidence of this kind...
