Sounds ok to me. Do check that they remain tight, if they don't keep tightening untill they are, as Ford instructed. I saw some Thames Trader data where some were up to 310 lb ft! (using 7/8" UNF)

Ford never specified them, they do insist on tightebning up after use until no movement can be achieved.

Yours is too early, that fixing came in from 1266167. You'd have to change the block, which I don't think is worth it. Can't see it very well, but I can't remember one. Looks like a Brockhouse gearbox, used in several conversions, although I'd never seen one on a Roadless. Looks like a late Power Major.
