Re: Oil in Exhaust

Thanks again shepp. All I know is she was running a lot more smokey than what she os now and was very hard to start prior to the restoration. A local tractor mechanic took her away and rebuilt the engine for me, took off the head and refurbished it all. I'm afraid that's all i know as I'm a complete...

Re: Oil in Exhaust

Thanks Shepp, will certainly work my way through the issues you have raised and try to establish where this is coming from. There is definitely no symptoms from the starting or running which she is able to do the best. Will she likely always do this with only being used for light work or is it just ...

Re: Oil in Exhaust

Hi Sandy.....never ploughed before and haven't got any land to do it so will have to see if the neighbours want their fields wrecked  Definitely no issues starting. Will have go check the valve stems as you have mentioned. Can you offer advice around doing this as I'm a complete novice and ha...

Oil in Exhaust

Folks, I have noticed an ever increasing amount of oil at the base of my exhaust, so much so it leaves a small puddle of black oil when i remove it and set it on the ground. Also, I've had the odd splat of oil coming out of the exhaust whilst my super is running, landing on the seat, along with bein...

Re: New Exhaust

Thanks folks. To be fair to Agri Parts they came back to me and admitted sending a major exhaust rather than a dexta one. They are happy to pay the return postage as it's their mistake and are sending me the correct dexta one.

All's well that ends well :D

New Exhaust

Hi folks, wondering if anyone can advise where I can get a new vertical exhaust for my 1964 Super Dexta which is close to the original spec? I ordered one from Agri Parts, marked up as for a Super Dexta, but I knew as soon as it came it was the wrong size/length. On trying to fit it the thing wouldn...

Re: Running a log splitter

Thanks again folks. Will no doubt get the hang of it over time. Believe it or not I've another query :D Do I need to have the the small knob above the main black auxiliary service one screwed all the way in or out. This is the part that seems spring loaded and also has a metal link to the main lift ...

Re: Running a log splitter

Guys, got an Oxdale TM400 log splitter and have it working the on the rear of my dexta. Trying to split ash and it generally works the best, but sometimes just lodges in the log, but maybe this is tough wood and the limitations of the splitter and dexta have been discovered and something I have to l...

Re: Running a log splitter

Yeah, think I was advised to do that previously and the guy that works at my dexta was for drilling out the original but I stopped him until I get a replacement. Where can I get a good non original one to drill out and thread?

Re: Running a log splitter

Thanks guys. Was doing some research and saw this video on YouTube of a standard Dexta and log splitter. Seems to be PTO driven, so I take it the splitter has it's own pump which the PTO powers? Seems to be very quick. Think the make of log splitter is Posch. Don't know what tonnage though. I've sen...

Running a log splitter

Folks, Some advice again would be appreciated. I wish to purchase a log splitter to use with my Super Dexta. Wondering which type would be best for the power that my dexta can produce? My father in law has a hydraulic/oil pipe one that I haven't tried on my dexta yet but which he tells me needs a lo...

Re: Stop Cable Clamp

Thanks Sandy. Do you know where I could get such a part or if it's actually called the stop cable clamp? Can't seem to find it in any of the parts diagrams or lists 🤔

Stop Cable Clamp

Folks, Just wondering if any of you could provide photos or advise on the clamp the holds the stop cable in place at the fuel pump. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it screws on between the pipes leading up to the injectors and prevents the stop cable from moving about and prevent stopping the...

Re: New Members Super Dexta

Thanks guys. Yeah, always thought the red should have been the oil light with red meaning danger. I'll just decide and stick to it then anyway so I know which means what. Definitely varied ideas on this though. Even noticed this between Dextas at local vintage rally's. Another question...where the r...

Re: New Members Super Dexta

Hi Old Hywel, Thanks for your input. I searched warning lights within the forum and another member stated the following: "The Ford/Fordson standard is Generator light on right, oil light on left. Think the artist made an error in the operators manual. On the Dexta the lights can be moved but on the ...
