It does in fact say tractor, so that should be okay.

Yeap the transmission one is there. I think this was a random thing the previous owner had laying around. Luckily I had owned a fordson in the past.

You'll need to get a crankcase breather, as otherwise you'll fill the engine with dirt. You'll also need the pipe from the rocker cover to the air filter. I'm assuming the major is close enough related to the power major that sump capacity and dip sticks shouldn't of changed

Luckily me and my father had owned a fordson major once before so I new that dip stick was incorrect so I went down the side paddock to see if I could find the ol major. She's still there

Yeah that original intake pipe was a bit too special for my liking. Zip ties and duck tape ........... I'm shore that's the recommended method.

Your right, a piano hinge between the bonnets would not work.

Getting that channel folded up should be a straight forward job for a fabrication shop or a company that makes makes facias, flashings and ridge capping etc for the building trade.

Their called piano hinge but it's not literally a piano hinge that's just what they call them because of their length.I don't know how big they go but the ones we were using were the size of a door hinge.

I've never used it for this purpose but you can buy piano hinge by the length from some fastener suppliers. The one I used previously was about a meter long.
