Dexta Sump Removal

I'm trying to remove the Sump of my Dexta.I've removed all bolts as far as I can see,Including the 2 Longer ones at Front and Rear,Although one of the Front Bolts is still in-situ as the nut come off and the stud is still in Place. Re: Compression Test

Took the Head off Today and Found a Cracked Liner on Cylinder No.1 which is Probably One Reason for the Lower Compression on that Cylinder. Re: Compression Test

Depending on where you're located parts for these engines are really affordable and then a rebuilt is cheaper then finding a tractor with a healthier engine.

Re: Compression Test

Redone the Compression test Today with the throttle open with the same results.
I then put a Little oil in the Cylinders and got 380 in 1 and 400 in the other Two.
So will have to check the liners, pistons and Rings when I get it Out.

I Know the Manual States that the Engine Should be Up to Temperature when doing it but I had the Injectors Out and Done it On a Cold Engine Is that a bit Light or would it be ok for a Tractor for Ligh...

Had another look at the Starter and it ends in 6. 58. Would that be June 1958. ?

Re: Help with identification

The injector pump number is just a number, SPE-3A 60S 593 is the type of pump. H6F is 6 June 1961, are you sure you've seen all of the serial number? P31x is 31 December but the year is the last letter behind the 31 (not an X!). Your starter probably says 6 5x? Look for a casting code on the block ...

Re: Help with identification

To find if it's been road registered you'll need all the possible casting codes plus the serial and engine numbers. The codes you say now suggest January 1960. It looks like a bitsa, so it might be more difficult to register. You should find codes on the top cover, bell housing and block as well. D...
