Re: Advice for replacing a water pump on a Fordson Super Maj

Got your PM, you have a few choices, get a rebuild kit from agriline, silver fox, etc. And rebuild it yourself or have a shop do it for you, or you can buy a new/rebuilt pump and press the hubs off both and swap them. Be sure to measure the the distance from the end of the shaft to the hub on your o...

Re: Rebuilding a fuel injection pump

Also, check the cam on your donor pump, it looks like an early one that is timed like 10° or 15° different, as the pumps were mounted straight up and down. as bad as your old cam looks, with good rollers on the lifters you'd be surprised how long it would hold up in a tractor that doesn't have to wor...

Again, thanks Rick! I was in the dairy/cheese industry for probably a good twenty years, mostly in the tech and engineering side of it. everything from the raw milk intake through the processing and on to the packaging (note the 3" stainless steel sanitary tubing on the row crop). the company I work...

Thanks Rick, and yes it got the Granny seal of approval. Even she noticed how much longer it looks with a bonnet on it.

Keep an eye on that helper, it wont be long and he will be showing you how to do it! As Brian has stated several times , this is a job for the professionals, and I agree with him 100%, But.... If you have STRONG mechanical skills, a ford shop manual and/or other literature and specs, I believe you c...

Re: Karma and a Super Six

So here's another one of my pet peeves that I got done before the Symco Thrasharee this summer, I final sucked it up and made a steel bonnet for the Super Six. Took two bonnets and started cutting and welding, made a “hump" on the side for the air cleaner, had to move the rear latch on the left side...

Re: 6D Power Major

So we didn’t get the “not for export” done this summer, just ran out of time, but we did get a bunch of little things done before the Symco Thrasharee. I finally got rid of the ugly air cleaner on the row crop. I fond a air cleaner from a Super Six in the junkyard, they had no idea what it was, and ...

No honeydew trip, my employer purchased a rollform machine from a company in Mirano Venezia, I'll be there training for a few weeks.
Thanks for the info, I'll probably try to go west to see what we can find.

Thanks Adrian! One of the benefits however is that when we find the parts over here not many people know what they are and quite often the parts go relatively cheap. Marc and Em have been busy most of the day scraping and cleaning. Pat http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy259/ppeeters/photo%207-10-1...

Re: My not for export Major

OK so its been a few years since I posted any updates of the 54. Last year we picked up a real nice front cowl with the headlights that have the beveled lens, and then changed out that ugly red fuel tank. I finally found a set of cast iron front wheels last fall, and its rather embarrassing to tell ...
