Cab was one of the first things to be scrapped after purchase - don't think it ever came with a door?

Re: County Super 6 Project (Alberta, Canada)

Finally found a pair of lift arms at a local tractor wrecker completely by accident. Stepped on one in the snow and dug the other up a short distance away. They seem to fit the County! Just have to make sure they fit the knuckle assembly on the 3 point hitch arms next. https://hosting.photobucket.co...

Re: County Super 6 Lift Arms Needed

Finally got a day off work to go visit the local tractor wreckers. I found these by accident by stepping on the one in the snow! Dug the other one up a short distance away. Lucky find! Not even sure what tractor they came off of - but looks similar to the ones off a Ford 5000. https://hosting.photob...

Re: County Super 6 Project (Alberta, Canada)

Cylinder bore looks fine from the bottom, once I pull the head and remove the pistons further inspection is required from the top. Will see what kind of shape the head is in when its removed. I'll probably replace the valve 'umbrella' seals at minimum. Dont think anything major will be required as t...

Was really hoping this was going to be a simple engine swap. Unfortunately discovered a leaking rear main seal. https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu188/captainmorgan1/IMG_8147.JPEG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds Leaking rear main. https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu188/captainmorgan1/I...

Re: County Super 6 Project (Alberta, Canada)

Clutch condition was extremely bad. Actually, rusted to itself and took some persuasion to disassemble. The specialty clutch shop in the city (I actually remember going to with my grandfather when he was a mechanic!) was able to machine and resurface. https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu188/cap...

Re: County Super 6 Project (Alberta, Canada)

Took the sump for repair to a specialty cast iron welding shop in the city. Overall, very impressed with the repair, mating surface is all within .003" which seems to be the tolerance across the whole surface. https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu188/captainmorgan1/IMG_7949.JPEG?width=1920&heigh...

Re: County Super 6 Lift Arms Needed

I have a brochure that claims it was standard on the Super 6, optional on the Super 4. Perhaps it was year dependent. https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu188/captainmorgan1/FullSizeRender_5X9TmoVXFF2n7T1k1CDEnu.jpg?width=960&height=720&fit=bounds https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu188/cap...

Were the Super 6's not supposed to come standard with a booster cylinder?

Re: Fordson Super Dexta Project (Alberta, Canada)

Thank you.

Because this Super Dexta still gets used during the summer months, I had to 'modernize' it a little bit. Added LED lights and a comfier seat. I still have the original light housings and steel seat (cushion is long gone) so I can easily return to original if I wanted.

County Super 6 Project (Alberta, Canada)

Backstory of this County: My father purchased the tractor in 1998 with a seized engine, I was eight years old at the time. The story is that the previous owner had a large blade mounted to the tractor and hit an object with the blade. The cast sump cracked, the tractor ran dry of oil and seized. Dad...

Fordson Super Dexta Project (Alberta, Canada)

Bit of a backstory: 1963 (need to confirm the year with the serial number) Fordson Super Dexta that was owned by my grandfather, father, and now me. Tractor gets used fairly regular during the summer months around the acreage. Tractor mostly original. Modernized a little bit with upgraded seats and ...
