Re: M&W turbo conversion kit Ford 8000
Hey Kev, You are right, but I only spoke to some specialists on the phone. Meanwhile I searched on THE internet and found out the make of the turbo is Rajay. I never heard of it but it seems to be a fairly common make. This will ease the search for parts. If the people from Holland who read this can...

M&W turbo conversion kit Ford 8000
Hey people, Our Ford 8000 tractor is fitted with an M&W turbo conversion kit. These kits were sold in the 60's and '70's to farmers on various makes of tractor to give them more power. After the overhaul of the engine, the turbo leaks oil to the air intake ports. So now the turbo needs refurbishing ...

Pictures Ford 8000 engine overhaul
Hey people, As I told you in another topic our Ford 8000 tractor needed a complete engine overhaul. I thought let's publish some pictures of the work that was carried out on the engine. http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb450/fordsonfarming/zwitserland074.jpg The cylinders were bored out to fit ov...

Re: Ford 8000 engine knock
Hey Pascal, Sorry it took me so long to reply, been on holiday for a week.. We managed to put the steel wheel on the fordson before we left to the Panningen event. We had a lot of attention when we took our Fordson F on original trembler coils and the fordson N in original condition for a tour aroun...

Re: Ford 8000 engine knock
Pascal, Unfortunately the Ford won't be ready for the Panningen event. The engine is almost assembled again and will be tested on monday. When everything is ok, we can bring the engine home en put it into the tractor again. But completing this in this short time (we leave home to panningen on friday...

Re: Ford 8000 engine knock
Thank you Pascal for the usefull comment. You are so right, the sound of a healthy 6 cilinder engine will make us forget the costs. We made a list with parts that need replacing to get the engine in good order. We decided to do it properly so the list is long: new pistons new piston rings engine reb...

Re: Ford 8000 engine knock
hey, New update: Last week we found out that the sound comes from the clearence between the pistons and cilinder. So this means the engine is just worn. There was no evident play in the wrist pin bushes. We sent the engine to a company for complete refurbishment. Probably new pistons, cilinders, pis...

Re: Ford 8000 engine knock
Hey Pascal, We haven't found the problem yet. The pistons don't seem to hit the cilinder head (with the head gasket fitted there is still about 1,2 mm play between the piston head en cilinder head. There is no damage on the head nor on the pistons. When the head was off, and we turned the engine wit...

Re: Ford 8000 engine knock
Hey people, I think we have found the problem... A New Holland mecanic visited us today and listened to the engine. He asked us to start the engine with the engine stop cable pulled out. The engine cranked over without starting and then we heard the knocking sound aswell. It seems like the pistons h...

Re: Ford 8000 engine knock
Thank you people, for the advises about my problem. Next thursday a Ford New Holland mecanic that we know personally is coming to listen to the noise. I will certainly investigate the loose crankshaft pulley. That's not so difficult to do. Loose flywheel? Since it's been running for years now, I als...

Ford 8000 engine knock
Hello, I have a question about our Ford 8000 tractor. We've got a Ford 8000 tractor for years now. It is fitted with a turbo from a ford 9600 tractor and it performs well. But we also have a problem with it. When we bought it, 12 years ago it had a knock in the engine. We used it for years and nothi...

Re: pictures E27N P6
These tyres are 13.6/36 indeed. They fit easily and gives the tractor a more powerful look than the original 12.4/36 tyres.
It's a CAV pump but I've seen many variants on engines like these..

Martijn

Re: pictures E27N P6
Hello fellow P6 addicts! A few answers to your questions: I know Australian tractors have those cast wheels fitted. I don't know why our tractor hasn't got them. We bought it in Holland from a trader, who bought it from a trader in the UK who imported it from Australia. Maybe the tractor was fitted ...

Re: pictures E27N P6
Thanks Dandy Dave,
The tractor came from Australia, there's a brass plate on the right rear wing which tells "Ford Motor Company Australia".
I'm still looking for some wheel weights to fit (preferably in Holland).. So if any of you readers can help me....

Martijn

Gear Ratio Fordson N
Hey people!
I've got a question: Can you see from the outside what kind of gearratio is fitted in a Fordson N (Standard) gearbox?
I can buy a Fordson N Industrial and I would like to know if it's a "fast" or a "slow" one...
Hope to hear from you guys!!

P6 throttle rod wanted
Hello people! I hope you can help me.. I'm looking for a throttle rod for a P6 E27N. It's the little rod that is attatched onto the manifold (about 8 cm long?). On this rod (cast iron) the throttle rod is connected on witch you pull when your in the seat. I know it's a bit of a cryptical description...

Thanks for the information! Unfortunaltely I haven't got any pictures of the tractor yet. As soon as I have made some, I will post them.. BarryM, our tractor hasn't got those heavy cast wheels, but I can see from different colours of paint on the wheels that they were once swapped for the standerd E...

E27N P6 from Australia?
Hey there! We are restouring an E27N P6 at the moment. It looks like it's an original one, with 1 fuel cap in the tank and more original features. After a lot of polishing we were able to read the text on a brass plate (about 10 cm. square) witch is fitted on the left rear fender. It tells the user ...
