Re: County 1164 Resto

Hi, You could jack up the tractor, put some markings on the front wheels, turn on the back wheels and count the number of turnings in the left and right front wheel. The should be exactly the same. A friend of mine had the same issue with a Super4 (SuperMajor). In his County one fronthub was replace...

Re: County 4wd tyre sizes?

Good evening, On page 3 of the Conversion board on the topic "VonZu '78 4600-four" , I have posted a leaflet of a 4600-four with all the tyre options. The 4000-four is basically the same as the 4600-four. Please send me a PM if you would like to have the 4000-four leaflets. Do you happen to have som...

Re: Ford 7000 Schindler 4wd

Hi, The 4wd conversion was not a factory option, so it was done by the dealer. Schindler was a Swiss company. Many German Fords have a Schindler front axle, some Dutch too. Parts are pretty difficult to obtain. I have some drawings of some types of Schindler front axles. There's a topic on this boar...

Re: FTCoA gathering at Barham May 2015 Part 3

Hi Brian, Today I met the owner of this 8401 http://www.tractorfan.nl/picture/840207/ He is an incredible nice guy and a true Ford enthousiastic. He even gave me the chance to sit in the cab and enjoy the view on the hood. I now totally understand your love for these tractors, Brian. He has the trac...

Hi Brian, That sounds like a great plan! Of course I will escort you from the boat to Meddo! 8) There are two 8401's over here indeed. One is owned by a famous Dutch tractor exporter Van Dijk in Deurne. I have heard the tractor is in the shed for years now. This is an old (2002) picture: http...

What an extremely great series of pictures!! Thank you for sharing!
Quite some County's over there. I really like the 4000-4 in the second series!
Is the County "longnose" an 1474 or an 1884?

The FW is a league of its own...what an beast!

Hi Dave,

Thank you very much for your reply! Much appreciated!

No, the flywheel wasn't taken off.

Do you know if the crankshaft bearings and so are equal to a Fordson F or N engine?

Thank you in advance!

As both he and I know very little about these machines, hereby some questions: - After the restoration the engine starts right away and runs gre...

Is the oil level OK? And the colour of the oil?

I am afraid you will have to take off either the head or the sump to investigate? :eyes:
