6y 5000 SoS 4wd

I just found out that a force 5000 with SoS gearbox and 4wd conversion is for sale here in Sweden. How many SoS 5000 were ever produced on 6y series? The 4wd conversion is something I havent figured out yet what it is.

That R-o-R seat are they unusual or? Was it a option on several modles? We have one off those on our Dexta and I believe there are one fitted to our Major as well. I can probably arrange several more if someone is intrested, I know where to find more off them.

@Brian- I believe that the -61 models were prototypes or test tractors at a few lucky UK farmers. I have no numbers off how many off these that were produced in 1961 but probably just a handful.

It is quite easy when you learn how it works. That looks very original and complete your Major.

Have you found anything yet? Fords are cheap in Sweden...and even Countys. For example this one is now for sale in northern Sweden. I believe its a 954 the duals are included. The Cab is a Swedish Klippan. The pricetag is 20 000Sek wich will about 2000 euros. http://i322.photobucket.com/albums/nn436...

Is it reversible ploughs you are intrested in? The engine wich I believe is one off the Dorset models so it will around 100hp. So in that case you could on soft soil pull 5x14" with it but on heavy clay you have to go down to 4x14". The problem is the lifting capacity on the Major so I dont know but...

New to the Forum

Hi I am new to this forum, been here a few times but now I started write stuff here. Born and raised in Sweden. My family is a farmingfamily and there have been Fordsons around us since mid 30´s. The Ford era peaked in the late 80´s where we had 10 Fords in our yard. From N, E27N, Major TVO, Major d...

Serial number Fordson N

We are restoring the engine off our old N. My grandfather bought it in 1938 and it is told then that it was made 1936. The engine had under those 2 years been replaced because we cant find any numbers. How else is it possible to date it? http://i322.photobucket.com/albums/nn436/stark1-2008/Fordson%2...

Hi I am new to this site but not new to Fords though. Entering this forum with what seems to be a big black hole about the 86/9600 4wd conversions. As far as I been informed these conversions were mostly made by the dealers in Holland and Belgium. Normaly Ford outsourced these kind off specialities ...
