If anyone is interested I've sourced the seal henk gave me the dimensions for from "Momentum", the order number is 5003-8505 I can confirm that it's 10mm thick and has a dust lip, it being 10 or 12mm is of no concern as materials and such has improved quite a lot in the 48 years that have passed sin...

Never thought I'd find this thread again, does anyone know which measurements the seal that goes in the engine block around the shaft which drives the fuel pump has? Mine's developed a quite heavy leak :/

Hehe... If it had been a super major you would have had to take the top off ;) About that paint scheme, are you talking the original british scheme or the american one? The british should be everything blue except wheels which were orange and the grills are most probably silver greyish(I painted min...

Hmmm... No comments here? Doh... Anyways, I have two pictures for you of the almost completed beast(only thing missing now is the rear working lights, two handles on the bonnet and something to clamp it down with) First off in broad daylight: http://iloapp.b20power.com/data/_gallery//public/25/12797...

This isn't exactly Fordson here, but I've seen a Buster 400(Volvo BM 400) with a half-track attachment that was hydraulically operated, it allowed you to lift the front axle off the ground by applying downforce on the front wheels for the tracks, the video of a similar one is here on youtube http://...

How about making a compression test? If it's not had a air cleaner for 30 years I think it's a marvel it would have even started when you got it... I'd never start anything without an air cleaner since I ran my moped without one some 18 years ago and wore down the cylinder in about two months... Tha...

Thanks Foxen. I want to be sure about this. I see eight holes in the retainer in the picture on Pascal's wiki. The one I have has all eight bolts but do believe as Foxen says that this outer ring is what is left of a pto guard. Do I just need four bolts to hold retainer onto raised pto housing and ...

yes super6954 but one in such good shape as that one should have been left as it was Grani converted his roadless four into a six cylinder beast that I would love to have and toy around with, I am pretty sure that his conversion increased the value of his tractor at least twice, both in usability f...

Can you not insert a short bolt in it or braze a nut onto the casting to support the same fix? The manifold is made out of cast aluminum and I'd be very wary of brazing or welding anything onto that since each different alloy has it's own "additive"(the material you add when welding or brazing), th...

Thanks Foxen, that makes sense because the ring has some rough edges as if something has been removed. I will try to take a close up picture of it. I believe I will have to replace the seal but decided to put it on first and see if all works and if it slings oil out. Thanks for the tip on getting r...

Hello Gman! I am only about a thousand miles from you! A short distance compared to most of the users I have seen on this forum. My tractor is in great shape and runs real good, it has fresh blue paint and came with a scraper and a loader that I am trying to figure out how to put on. The gauges are...

Hi Pascal. I have looked back at your pictures on the raised pto but do not see the ring that is on mine that covers part of the top right hand bolt that fastens it to rear end of tractor, the one you are not suppose to remove from the pto. This ring seems to have spaces for the other bolts that ho...

It isn't a heater plug in the top Gerry, it is where the fuel comes in when you press the primer, I've tested the fuel line and it comes out lovely when it is disconected from the atomiser. I've just had another good look at this top "atomiser", it has a 12volt supply attached to it so it appears t...

Does the heater plug have a shroud of sheet metal around the coil and a pipe fitting in the outside end? If so it's not a heater plug for the dexta... using one of those instead requires a bit of remodeling of both the manifold and the piping for the heater... not recommended if you want to stay ori...

Hi guys, Today my cousin made the other half of the frame. The tractor is standing on it own wheels (without a jack under it). We have a rolling chassis! Now we have to do a lot of little jobs like making a bracket for the alternator, bending the fuel lines, connecting the airfilter, etc. I'...
