I have the same problem and am grateful for the information so far. I have found a source for the seal, but have the choice of ESC, ETC Viton or PTFE.

Can anyone help as to which one I should get?

Hi Brian The pipes on mine run along the rocker box and then turn right immediately between the thermostat housing and the rocker box before going down to the governor. The water pump is below the thermostat housing a good couple of inches. Do you have pipes that would fit? Hi Skateboss I'm thinking...

Hi All I've had an offer from Cotswold tractors of two pipes - many thanks for the lead. The engine is very early and I will check tomorrow morning which way they run. I would prefer new ones if I can get them; they seem to be key to getting the engine to run smoothly. I'll come back to you all tomo...

Hi Chris

I've tried to make new pipes using 9/16 adaptors, but it isn't working. I have had to up the pipe size to 3/8 and the bends by the manifold are too tight because of the length of the adaptor. How did you make a new one?

Vacuum pipes - early Major

The two vacuum pipes on my 1952 Major need replacing as one is fractured and the other virtually rusted through. I have been unable to source any ready formed, and cannot find the little olives which seal the pipe in the existing fittings. These are virtually a small ball of brass - something the lo...

I have the same problem and have to replace the stub axle and the top link (RHS) as both are beyond salvage. Also badly worn is the casting in which the king pin sits. I presume that I will have to have this bushed and then reamed, but is there a limit to how much of the casting can be drilled befor...

Thank you Brian I know what you mean about the condition and trying to keep her original. I had planned to restore her - there is a fair bit of rust around the wings and roll bar, and very little paint left on most of the heavy items. She has been sprayed over in the past, although not much seems to...

Thanks Brian Had a look at the wobbly steering this afternoon and the stub axle and splined crank are shot, so that's the first job. http://lh4.ggpht.com/_kKMu3zgY9yY/StDxf4VgAQI/AAAAAAAAAB0/U5Amurdqjn4/s720/IMG_8510.JPG http://lh5.ggpht.com/_kKMu3zgY9yY/StDxhz21jXI/AAAAAAAAAB8/mVmsAFunqEA/s720/IMG_...
