I am the proud owner of Oscar's Dexta which I bought off him back in 2007 and Brian very kindly brought back for me on one of his visits to Holland.
I remember the discussions on this adventure. I think there was a blog post. Brian helped me out loads, even sent me some parts gratis.

Re: New Member / Buying advice

Its nearly at the stage now where its usable, I do think I have a problem with the lift arms, I think they aren't going up fully, the lever has to be brought up past the stop to get them to their highest point, I need to do a bit more research on it to be honest. You most likely have a worn cam fol...

Re: New Member / Buying advice

To be honest the injectors probably need a complete overhaul rather than just new nozzles but it'll do for now. Just need to put the cooling system back together now and I'll start it up and see if its any better. I did notice that where the waterpump attaches to the front casing is very badly corr...

I'm sure I remember reading on here about someone running a weld down the centre of the bush to free it off as its prone to corrosion. I think replacment bushes are around for relitivley cheap (less than £8).

Re: Leaking cross shaft seal

As for how much there is a level plug on the right side of the gearbox, this should be a square headded plug, take this out fillup gearbox with oil until it just starts to leak out the hole then run the plug back in.

Re: injector leak

Take all 3 injectors to your local Diesel specialist and get them serviced. They should replace the washers as a matter of course and then will clean and re calibrate them.
We had all 3 done one needed a new nozzle for around £60. It's the injector pump service that costs the most.

Re: Top link, bonnet prop, hydraulic fitting questions

On our 62 Super D there is a two prong clip that is riveted on the inside of the bonnet just before the front most handle and on the line of the tin where the curved section meet the flat section. Here is a rather poor photo of the clip and its location. If you find a suitable replacement let me kno...

Re: super dexta badge

We had ours done here: http://www.marquerestore.co.uk/ It very local to us and they seem to be very busy. The cost is about the same as buying replacements so its unlikely that it will be a cheaper option, however you can be sure that they will fit and that they are original. We had to wait for 3 to...

The number i've found, which looked to be hand-stamped is 957E 67439. Does this sound like the right number to date the tractor  The 957E numbers are part numbers and will be identical on most dextas. The engine number is stamped on the left side of the engine above the injector pump on a smo...

Re: Oil warning light wiring

We came across the issue of the replacement lamps and lenses having a single cable. We had bought a wiring loom though and it came with some lamp holders as well, they were part plastic so had both cables as there was no physical earth. The new lamp lenses clipped on to the wiring loom plastic holde...

The Nuffield forum:

Looks Like a Nuffy Mini, they were rebadged to Leyland 154 after the merger. They are smaller than a dexta and were between 900cc and 1500cc. The engine was based on the Austin Mini engine hence the pet name 'mini'

Got her running yeaterday, there was a lot of smoke to start with but that cleared. Next time we'll remeber to check the inlet manifold tap is open otherwise she would have started quicker. It so some cranking to get the fuel from the pump to the injectors you can see this in the first part of the v...

Re: Super Dexta Hydraulics

Check your rear oil level, a quick check to see if the hyd pump is working just decap the external service pipe at the back and pull the knob (if there is still a knob attached) to switch the service pipe feed, oil sould squirt out so make sure that nothing or anyone is behind you. The weak spot on ...

Re: Wanted: Lift arms with the extra hole for hitch pick-up

We saw a few pick up hitches at the Tractor World show in Malvern but none had the lift arms with them, I suppose the owners swapping from p/u hitch to swinging drawbar dont want to shell out for lift arms aswell so the spares always seem to be short these essential bits.

Dad and I are making good progress on the dexta now, we have finally fitted the fuel tank and got the control box fitted and all the wiring too. Re: Dexta rockers, and taking head off.

Yes there are two holes, only one is being used however. I was looking at this yesterday wondering why it was there? The reason pjjms asked about the clutch rod holes is that he wanted to establish wether your dexta is fitted with a live drive two stage clutch. By pulling out the clevis pin and mov...
