Oh No!
I had most everything back together, ready to set the valve train and adjust. My last piece was to remove the engine lift point off the intake back corner and attach the metal plate that holds the oil bath. I started trying to fit the hose from the oil bath to the intake but it did not want to go so...

Re: Can't get the head off
I assume this is my problem. It would run if pulled off only. It would not crank with a battery. But it ran very badly.

Re: Can't get the head off
Mercy, I can't believe it, but I forgot that the injector studs go straight through. Stupid. Anyway, I have a head gasket leak between the front and middle cylinder

Re: Can't get the head off
Had to quit. I was about to lose it. And things get broken for good when that happens. I used my skid steer to lift the tractor, all the weight of the front of the tractor was on the motor lift brackets that connect only to the head. With this weight, I was sure the wedge would take it off. That's a...

Best way to ck compression
I can't seem to find a tool that I know I will be able to use to check compression. There are many kits on Amazon with many adapters however, non look like they will work. I had rather have an old injector and holder to fabricate a hookup to the gauge. Anybody know of a specific tool or way to read ...

Re: Super Dexta help
It's been over a year since I installed the rebuilt injector pump. Been sitting ever since. I seem to recall something..... I can't remember if I had a screw stripping out or what. I just remember not wanting to do it again, I also recall it being tough because I did not remove the front end. I may ...

Re: Super Dexta help
How hard would it be to dbl check. I used my manual to time it. I would hope that I was capable of following directions. However, if not much trouble, I should recheck.

Re: Super Dexta help
I started to check compression but I don't have the proper adapters to fit in place of the injector. My kit is mostly for spark plugs. I have a harbor freight nearby, their kit may have what I need. I thought about getting it running and cracking the injector lines, one by one to see if I have a bad...

Super Dexta help
I have a good shape 1965 Fordson Super Dexta, Been years since I spents lots of time here. I rebuilt everything from the ground up about 12 years ago. 2 years ago, it did something while working a food plot, half running but I got it trailered. It has not cranked since. Been sitting. I assumed it wa...

Re: Been a long time
I am not sure why, but he said to change the oil in the injector pump and then try it. So I drained the oil..... what seemed like 90% diesel. I scanned my manual and could not find the injector pump oil type needed. I did find "self lubricated" which can confuse??? My pump is different than the one ...

Re: Been a long time
I took the injectors off again and pointed them up. At first I was only getting anything out of #1. I noticed I had a slight leak at the fitting so I tightened 2 and 3. Then I got spray at all three. Then I switched injector 1 with 3. Still the same thing. Starter starts off turning slow, normal, th...

Re: Been a long time
Tried it again. It got to spinning really fast like it was going to hit. But it never really hit. But you could tell that it had sped past the rpms that the starter is able to turn.... but never hit. It would probably pull off now. Edit 20 minutes later. I pulled the injectors and turned them upward...

Re: Been a long time
I took the injectors apart to clean them. The tit holes were stopped up on 3 of the 6. I worked for an hour on the last one. I don't know the proper tension on the top brass spring screw but I guessed it from memory and put it back together expecting it to fire right up. I thought I heard it hit one...

Re: Been a long time
OK, coming from the front, injector one was spitting, was not a good spray... and from one hole. If I recall, it has two???? Injector 2 had no sign of fuel. I was loosing a little at the fitting since I had to change the angle to be able to see. So the pressure may not have been 100%. Injector 3 had...

Re: Been a long time
The line back to the tank, the leak off line. At any time during turning over if you removed the gass cap, would you see fuel returning. I don't, but I wonder if during cranking, since it is not burning fuel, should that be the point when it most returns???? Probably unrelated to my problems, Just w...

Re: Been a long time

Re: Been a long time
Valves all working up and I assume the more important... down, not staying up. There was a jel like oil in the top of the valve cover. I turned it over almost 60 seconds before seeing the oil rise to the rockers. I took the fuel lines loose at the injectors and pointed them where I could see them we...
