Re: Late Super Major injection pump rev counter drive

Hello, I have given some tought to the problem before because I have 2 pumps with the industrial shaft.Boring the camshaft shoudn't be very difficult.I don't think they are hardened to the core, and you can buy a carbide drill. For the square drive ,I had tought to bore a hole and fill it with a speci...

Re: Late Super Major injection pump rev counter drive

Hello, unfortunately, there is no easy way to take the drive for the tachometer from a 6cyl pump as they have never been built to do that. And you don't tell which pump or engine you have. But assuming you are talking of a 590e engine, the Minimec pump camshaft will always have a splined end protruding...

Re: REST-O-RIDE seat . Parts wanted

I have seen them ,but I was not 100% sure that they would fit because they are not advertised as suitable for a fordson seat.I asked the vendor to have the dimensions but got no reply. Anyway ,without the springs this is useless.

REST-O-RIDE seat . Parts wanted

I am looking for a spring (or two) for a Rest -O-Ride seat. They are riveted but it doesn't seems to be a problem to cut Rivets. To the contrary of what many people can think the damping effect of the seat is not intirely taken by the rubber blocks as the seat pan is totaly resting on the two curved ...

Re: 6 cyl sump

I think I have some interresting information found in my documentation concerning your project. It seems that the sump (and engine block) have been modified during production and you should make the latest version which is retrofitable to older blocks ,to avoid problems. Abstract from German Service...

New Performance Super Major identification

Hi everybody, Some months ago ,I bought a Super Major for repair and before buying it , armed with all the documentation I found on this site and elsewhere on the net, and with the Condie books with chassis numbers location and lists ,etc, I thought it would be very easy to identify the model .But i...

It all depends from where the cable is driven. If it is from the engine through the angle drive unit, it must be clockwise I think. If it is from the rear of the injection pump (only possible with the minimec pump) it is anticlockwise.
Maybe you don't have the original engine?

Hi, maybe I don't understand very well what Brian means but in my opinion,a decompressor is always a starting aid.Although I agree that it should be used whith caution and certainlly not engaged when the engine is running by itself.I have made a copy of the starting instructions whith decompressor f...

There are two seals, one at both ends of the shaft.

Maybe a stupid question, but if there is a seal at each end of the "trumpet",how is the outer bearing lubricated?Whith grease?
I don't see any greaser in the parts catalog.

Hi,thank you for your quick answer.Of course I would be very interrested to see pictures of individual components.
Is the extra crankshaft pulley smaller than the standard one?
And just out of curiosity ,is it a genuine fordson front axle or a one off?
Regards
