The Loader is a late 50s Chaseside Loadmaster 700 built on the Power Major skid. This was an updated version of Chaseside's first hydraulic shovel which was a little late in arriving in 1955. Chaseside became bogged down with financial woes in the early sixties and were bought by Northrop. A complet...

Sorry there was not a picture from the ''other'' end.
Is that a Major front cowl? Looks like a super or power instrument pod and it was apparently fitted with a shuttle gearbox.

Doe show link

Some of you might like the photos that Sputnick of Brit Farming Forum has posted form the 50th Doe Show here in Essex UK. It was a nasty wet day and it made everything a little messy to say the least. The Chaseside 700 is a Forsdon based British loader from about 1958/59. http://farmingforum.co.uk/f...

Sorry chaps, my board input is limited by work at the moment and I seem to be spending most of my time offering sex, tractors, financial assistance, vi@gra ( little blue pills that go by a name that is not allowed on here and automatically changes to Dexta) and Russian brides. Shimming up with a di...

Well some of you might smile at the latest installment. The very tractor on the front cover of the Doe News was at the show pride of place at the front entrance, resplendent with yes!! the proper silver grills. Later I met a chap I know whom has been very helpful to me with tech knowledge on our bal...

At some point in the late 50's, or early sixties, it became a law over here in the USA that construction equipment working on the highway should be painted highway yellow for visibility. Many machines were repainted to conform to the standard. I bet that has something to do with it. Before then the...

Hi Gman! My '57 Major came with a Ford 713 backhoe and loader and was yellow from stem to stern. Underneath the yellow on the tractor and black on the wheels was empire blue paint with orange wheels. As far as I can tell, it was repainted by the dealer before delivery when he set it up as a backhoe...

Grill Colour from the experts!

Thought some of you might smile but our local New Holland agent Ernest Doe has just sent out their annual mag and on the front cover are old and new. The old is a rather nice orange wheel super with yes you've guessed an orange grill! If any of you in the south east can make their show next week it ...

Our old 3t tipper has been decked with scaffold boards covered with galv sheet for about 16/17 years. I do clean it off when finished and it stands under cover part of the year. The cost of the galv sheets would be too expensive now.The trouble with rough boarding can be getting the load to slide ou...

I am sure you are right. I do not personally have scientific proof but it is well documented. I have an old perkins engine in an excavator that runs unevenly when cold and smokes. The more quickly it is put to work the better.

Was then Staydri offered and fitted by the dealer?

Hi guys I put that on the BFF having seen it on the Classic Machnery Network. It is a Dodge 6x4 (although to be fair the back axle is partly obscured. It is fitted with the LAD cab which stood for Leyland Albion Dodge. Dodge was part of the Rootes group before being swallowed by Chrysler. The truck ...
