Re: Number plate light renewal..a few pics

I am sure with a few pics and measurements you would easily find a local metal worked to knocking up for you

I see you are in SA..where about?

I am in Jersey now, the island, not USA..but spent time in and around Jo'burg, Midrand and later up in Uganda and the Congo ...

Re: Old 20's parts..hydraulic O rings...

Always too many other jobs Getting top cover off was a long job, due seized pins on lift arms and trailer hitch attachment. No oxy acetylene any more, so the pins got removed slowly over a number of YEARS ! Bit of propane heat, penetrating oil and random jacks and rams to fashion a ‘pusher’. Would c...

Hello, If you go to the New Holland parts list (the link is in this thread: https://www.fordsontractorpages.nl/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=7876) you can find the sizes of the o-rings on the hydraulics. oooooohh that is nice I have the old copies of the original Fordson parts lists from here from ye...

Old 20's parts..hydraulic O rings...

Edit...I started this off as a simple single question but got carried away and waffled on a bit..apologies.. :D I had a hydraulic top cover O Ring kit (amongst other parts) from Old 20's and it seems not a great kit, at least one missing, and one the wrong size ( big one under the ASC valve )... so...

Re: Ground PTO?

Thanks Les I did not remember it, but seeing that the detent spring system has three positions it made me wonder. I had rebuilt the gearbox probably 10 -15 years ago (reverse idler died), and could not remember if I had done any work in that section as well..was wondering if I had re assembled somet...

Hydraulics wont lift a load

My grandfathers Dexta , early model, lights on outside of nose, single stage clutch, has been out of use and laid up in one shed or another from the mid 90's with gearbox issues. Fixed them in 2004/05 and did a bit of body work, not got around to putting it back together fully till yesterday. Now she...

Re: Dexta hydraulics lift help please

Do you happen to know what sort of PSI you are getting at the aux service valve?

I had a gauge on mine today, and it hits about 1400 then drops to 800. Seems very low.
I am asking becsuse, with weight on the lift arms ( transport box). hydraulics don't lift.

OK, not Fordson..Ford 4000 5610 PTO and covers

I know this is not strictly Fordson, but I am not going to go and look out for a 'modern' Ford forum just to put a few parts up for sale. I have here two PTO guards, screw on types, ones is straight and the other is 'bell shaped'. Seem to remember the straight one is Ford 4000, so assume the other i...

Re: Fordson F Wheels Wanted

Looks like I can't help then :( Also means that if none that I have are Dexta, the search for a set for mine continues too. We only ever had one Fergie that I remember and all the others of this vintage were Dextas , or later on MF135's with the wider rims. All of those rims have come off of Dextas,...

Re: Number plate light renewal..a few pics

No idea if they were all like mine or not. We never had an actual plate on ours, the number used to be painted on the diff housing between the mounting brackets . None of ours had wing mounted either, and the front on ones here in jersey, I only ever saw them painted on the from too, below the grill...

Re: I am getting really grumpy

Apparently the name 'Dexter" originated from the French / Jersey French name Poindestre, which became americanised to Poindexter and the shortened to 'Dexter' I too get annoyed by lazy spelling, so much of it these days, in my posts at least is due to fat fingers, poor typing skills, auto spell corr...
