Re: Inertia starter

I just dont think its a spring job. When wound up you should be able to put your hand on it and feel it vibrate like a motor running. These starters have been around in use for a long time, mainly used on large aircraft engines. Some of the later ones used a electric motor to wind them up. How they ...

Re: Brian: I need help on my Battery charger? Rectifier burn

Brian this charger appears to not have diodes in it. It has some sort of plate rectifier that I have never seen before. And it is no longer available from the manufacture. What is available is a diode bridge that seems to be very small. From a similar unit they build. So this has to be a conversion...

Brian: I need help on my Battery charger? Rectifier burnt up

Brian: I need help on my Battery charger? Rectifier burnt up. While this a sears unit it was made by Century I found it both on the sears and Century site. But this rectifier plate is no longer available from either. Century shows a couple of replacements with diodes in them that may work. One has 8...

I can't say I can recommend the constant jet engine whine I hear 24/7 because of working in high noise environments in my younger days. I really cant recommend the "747" engine ear whine either. I got it bad right from the source, the 747. Having worked on them from the very first one built and oth...

I need to rebuild my SMD steering cyl but have been reluctant to disable till I have a seal kit in hand. While not in good shape it still works. I didnt want to go down for long right now. .

Mark
The ones for the FMD are far to large to work with the dexta.

Are you looking to put a system together for your Dexta. If you are I can give you some ideas on off the shelf to build a system.

Also running out of money for buying oil for it!! ;)) Then you got BP burning the oil as waste in the Gulf. And I cant afford to buy it!! I called BP and told them a quick ...

. Ok I been out and looked at an old timing cover that is off an old SMD forklift engine I have apart and it is obvious that this seal has to come out with the timing cover off. SMD:Frnt CS engine seal leaking BAD, How much time to change

. My front crankshaft seal has now come to the point it must be changed. How long should this job take to do? Can this seal be changed without the removal of the timing cover? I had problems with both, the same thing on each. The commutator w...

. I think that most FMD/SMD front wheels here in the USA are of the pressed steel type with 6 lug nuts. In these only the wheel comes off, unlike the cast center type where the bearing comes off. I just put the forklift under the axle and lift just enough to clear the ground. Pull the lug nuts then ...

The crack was small but let oil into the water, not that if was flowing out, but enough. I repaired by brazing the crack with a easy flow high strength alloy. That was back in 93 or 94. ...

Dont even try to drill those arms, if those are original Fordson lift arms all you will do is burn up drill bits. I needed an extra hole in one I replaced on my industrial model with one from an ag model. That was due to different chain spacing on each. I had to burn that hole in with a torch. Also ...

This is the pump actuator arm it is moved back and forth by a special lobe on the camshaft. This arm shouldn't be either removed from the pump or be off a new one. Nothing leaks from the pump when the pump is taken off the engine. That is unless you have fuel in the tank and forget to shut the valve...
