Re: inboard or outboard lights?

Though they're missing now, originally My '61 had them in the grills. The cowl has holes for side lights and I wondered about it, but now learning that they were optional on the side through it's production run, it makes more sense. Thanks for helping with that mystery!

Re: Hand Brake Ratchet

My '61 doesn't either. Until I read further, I was thinking this was a self made retro brake of some kind. Haven't seen one either. It's gone this long without one, I don't suspect I'll be looking to add at this point. I appreciate seeing it though!

Re: Dexta Wheel Colours

Cvans, Interesting. '61 here also, but with original orange wheels. In any event, I like the white, provides a nice contrast. Whenever I'm able to restore, I'll likely go back with orange just to keep it to what she is/was, but have to admit, I like the white! Nice job with what we see

Re: Dexta owner / worker newbie

Thanks for the photos! Dave is right. Parts are pretty available. Even though you don't see too many of them in the States, comparatively speaking, parts can be fairly easily obtained. They're good solid tractors and worth putting a little into them to keep them going. I do wish there were a way to ...

Re: New to your Forum

Bill, I'm curious. Did you purchase the items locally in the states or did your order from order from the UK? I'll be needing many of the same parts you've replaced. Reading through other experiences about ordering from the popular supplier in the UK, they are hit or miss and as a result I've been l...

Re: My 1960 project

Very nice job! I hope you continue to post more pics as you move along with the restoration. I'm jealous. I realy like the color shade. May I ask what color you used and brand? Like Chris, I really enjoy seeing these brought back to life or for that matter, just kept running and out of hedge ...

Re: Correct Bonnet Handles

Interesting, my '61 has the curved handles from the bottom photo. My dad puchased the tractor 40+ yrs ago, so I'm guessing they're original. I guess I should say it's (singular) as I'm missing one..... :?

Re: solinoid or starter?

Nick, yes, good ground on all the connections.

Marcusgs, That is what I'm looking for, but which two terminals? I'm assuming the two larger ones?

Thanks!

solinoid or starter?

When I go to start my 61 Dexta, I just get a single "click". First thought was low battery. I've charge and confirmed full charge and have tried to jump it, still only a single click. The wiring is in desperate need of replacement, but my thoughts are leaning towards the solinoid. Many (unfortunatel...

Re: Orange or White

Hellow Randy, I've got a '61 and has orange wheels. I have to say that I prefer the light grey; however, when I get to restoring her, she'll very likely go back as close to original as possible and that would mean orange.

Re: Hello All

hi Mark, nice tractor, as I probably can see of it, is it a 60. or earlier? and I suppose it have live power too? mikkel It is acually a '61. I've heard it referred to as "semi-live" pto with the double clutch. Push the clutch half way, the tractor movement stops but the PTO continues to run...

Thanks Ben and Russel, I appreciate it. I would have expected one on the radiator, but haven't been familiar with one on an engine block. I've got lots to learn. Thanks again!
