Re: Oil pan

As my tractor is 300 miles from my home I went down there after I posted my exasperational post with the intent of getting that blasted nut off even if I rounded it off and ruined the plug. Well good news. I put a big pipe wrench on it ..and convinced it to move. Nut is off, oil drained and plug rui...

Dexta starter issues

Hey guys.. Went and installed starter and hooked it up. The lever still does not push gear into flywheel. Gear does not spin or engage.. it's like the starter gear and flywheel gear are blocking each other. Do I make a jumper going straight from the battery and touch the starter terminals and get it...

Dexta silent for 6 months

Hey... My Dexta has been silent for 6 months. It is at another Shark 300 miles from me and just haven't been there over this harsh fall and winter. It had a good half tank of diesel. Should I prepare to drain the intake lines and tank and refill with fresh? The starter broke in the fall and haven't ...

Re: Big starter problem

I can't recall if there was smoke or not. I was mainly focused on why the starter would spin without the lever depressed. I wanted to chase down the short so I removed the starter and solenoid ( it was mounted separately on firewall--is that the Noid we are referring too?) My 67 mustang has one just...

Finally it engaged but would not disengage and I jerked it back up. I tried again and could only get the starter to spin.. I t...

Wow.... a car quality paint job... Geez louise!

Wonderful!

Blacken up the tyres get them to match the beauty of the tractor...

Gosh, I would never believed a tractor that could be so slick and 'wet' looking...

Congrats!

Re: My Dexta in Action

Thanks Kiwi
I wonder... Is there some additive, or silicone that I can cover the cracks with to make sure they don't develop leaks? Or am I looking at replacing the tire in the future (not cheap!)?

Re: My Dexta in Action

My brush hog used to sway quite a bit until I shortened the sway chains on the three point. Now it only moves back and forth maybe 6 inches at most. No chains on mine Your lower three point arms should extend well beyond your back tires. Makes me wonder about your mower hitting the tires. I'll have...

Re: My Dexta in Action

If your close to the coast I hope you have some high ground to park the Dexta on. Oddly enough, the whole area is about 2-3 ft above sea level. The area I have set up at right now was built maybe 2 ft higher. If you look at the satellite pic, you can see small dark streaks surrounding the PRO=PERT-...

Re: My Dexta in Action

Looks like old Beauregard has had a hard life. If he looses another leg or two he is really going to be in rough shape. Blue crabs don't have claws? They can shed them (and legs) at will... Its one way they can escape... ofcourse they tend to hold onto food real tight so they can get caught in snar...

Thanks for the responses. The other broke... I did not pay attention to the damage. I assumed (ha) that it was just age... I was pulling a truck out of a mud bog and the I didn't even notice (was looking back at the truck) until the poor dexta started pinging and steaming... I'll chk on the seizing....
