Exhaust manifold for Consul m. 1960

Cheers,
Doesn't anyone know who deliver spares for old Brit cars? I need exhaust manifold (curved pipe with 4 holes) for Ford Consul m. 1960. Ford's spare part number is 9428.

Re: 63 Super Major Lift cylinder

Cheers, Henk has a good idea that a bar hold lift arms. :) My FSM stands up arms very well, abt. a week without implement. But I have an other problem. The lift arms don't raise to the up position. System adjustment has done correctly, except "knock-off" pin. Would it be a reason? When FSM equipped ...

You are right Bob! Oil grade is very important, but a hot gearbox is more feature of FM.

Re: How to replace the PTO Seal on my Fordson Power Major

Hello! To drain oil from transmission - but not necessary all of them. Then unscrew PTO cover bolts (see your picture). Remove the seal from the cover. Install a new one. Change also paper seal for the cover. It would be reasonable to change bearings (nr. 6208) of PTO shaft as well. Assembly in rev...

Ford 555 backhoe

Hello Ford specialists,

Does anyone know link for explosion diagram of Ford 555 backhoe? I should do brake renovation for the backhoe and something like instruction would be golden. Basically tractor is Ford 4000, but I don't know transmission and brake are they same.

Re: FM Side Engine Rail

I made the same job for my FSM. I found from local screw dealer a special threaded sleeve. The sleeve has inside thread for bolt and outside works as a thread tap tool. First you have to drill the suitable hole for the "tool", then screw bolt with lock nut into the sleeve and turn it to the predrill...

Re: Agriline Tach Cable

Be careful with Agriline tach cable. I ordered the cable and its lenght was a degree of injection pump lenght more than the existing one. Only part of the story, wire handedness was for a clockwise tachometer instead of anticlockwise one. It is running short time, but will break in no time. I refixe...

Re: Bonnet latch rivets

This is what I used. I made the dimple in the anvil with a bull nose end mill, and the shallow hole in the punch with a regular end mill to give the inside rivet head the “squared off” appearance of the originals, you may note that the end of my punch is rather distorted from using it to push ruste...

Use of Major's decompressor

What is your opinion, Major specialists! I have heard that Major's engine starting wouldn't be allowed when decompressor is on? It can damage the valves and push rods when the piston hits the valves. Only an engine turning with crank would be possible? Difficult to believe if timing and valve cleara...

Re: plough for a dexta.

Hi, There are lots of difference answers to this question, I will say that a standard Dexta without weights can only cope with a 2frw plough. It is reasanable to expect it to plough at 11"W x4"D in stubble ground. LLANFAIR. I agree! A 2 frw plough for a standard Dexta is suitable. If a ground is he...

Thanks Brian for your advise!
Perhaps a problem in my case is replacement gasket (Sparex), it is too thin? On the other hand the dimension that you mentioned is maximum 0,004". It doesn't leak now, but maybe I have to replace the gasket by better one some day.

Re: Engine for Dexta

You are partly right, but I saw last summer Volvo 400 tractor with Nissan 6 cyl engine, which had very well done and was running nicely. Sometimes it just wants to do something that deviates from normal.
On the other hand Super Dexta's engine is one option and the easiest to fit.

Hello, Has anyone assembled 6 engine or some other one for Dexta instead on Dexta's Perkins? Which one is the easiest to fit? I would be obliged if someone could advise me to find suitable engine for Dexta. I think the best solution is the engine, which is well-known and spares easily available. Kin...
