Is a 1963 FSM (not NP) fitted with a Lucas generator and if so, is it a Type C40 or will a C40 do the job? Looks like the original on mine may need to be replaced and I'm a bit wary of some of the unbranded units offered as 'equivalents'.

Using 90 grade oil in the gearbox could be contributing to the buildup of temp. Check the oil specs on this board and I think Fordson recommended the use of the same oil used in the engine. Maybe using the lighter oil will help.
