Re: Ford 5000.....Where it all began....

Thanks for the reply about the tractor still existing, that is really good news. If anyone knows of its location i would be pleased to hear from them.

It is 5 months older than mine proving what tough old tractors the 5000's were.

Re: My Ford 5000 - first (small) test drive

Hi Kiwi Kev, The problem with the brakes is they don't existing. After the previous owner had used it for trailer work and roading it all over Oxfordshire cutting hedges there is no life left in them. Can't get any by adjusting the linkage so am faced with pulling the trumpet housings off and settin...

Ford 5000.....Where it all began....

Thought i would share these two photos. As some of you know i have pre force 5000. My love for this particular type of tractor started when i was a boy when i visited a farm that owned a pre 5000. In fact the cheeky one sitting on the tractor on the left is me! Both photos were taken at Berrylands F...

Re: Head Gasket

Brian, you are almost spot on! While the block is totally original the big mistake i made was to order standard size piston and liners to return engine to original spec for a Pre Force 5000 but actually got standard size piston and liners for a Force 5000. When the correct head gasket for a Pre Forc...

Ford 5000 rear wing wiring

Does anybody have any good photos showing the correct ( ex Basildon) way the wiring under the rear wings of a Ford 5000 should be done? I know the wiring runs up one of the centre supports of the wing and then splits to run to the front and rear lights along conduit formed at the wing end but what c...

Internet 22amp Dynamo

Hello This topic may have been covered before but i am new here. Has anyone had problems with the black, 22amp Dynamos with tacho drive widely advertised by parts factors and on the internet, failing to work straight out the box? I bought one two+ years ago when the tractor was at an early stage of ...
