Re: bull pinion shaft
Thanks for the answer Brian. it's not a super, but a 52 fmd. so the problem is not caused by wrong use? If i get a second hand shaft, will the difference of the surfaces of the pinions (caused by wear) not be a problem?

bull pinion shaft
hello, I removed the brake axle en house to renew the seals and bearing, and found that the teeth of the pinion are missing pieces.
On both sides i have the same problem. What whould have caused this? The big pinion is not damaged, if i get other shafts wil this work?

Re: another oil question
If i am not mistaking the gear on a fm differential is a hypoid gear. If you look on the 3 photo on this page you see the gear on the top: http://www.fordsontractorpages.nl/ubb/F ... 00138.html
And here is the wiki page:

another oil question
Hi everyone, I filled my fm from front t back with sae30 oil. But yesterday i was talking with an engeneer from shell, and he told me the sae30 should not be used for hypoide gears. He says the big hypoid gear in the backend will not be sufficiently lubricated to avoid wear. I know the factory says ...

hello everyone
i just bought a lift for my fm, but one of the lift arms is broken. i searched for some new ones but mine has square holes for the square lift axle and the new ones are round for a spline axle. Is this an original fordson lift?

Re: unknown piece
It could indeed be a speedcontrole from the back because there is a big crane hanging on the tractor. A stop for the throttle is also possible. i don't think its a cab support as the arm of the crane hangs just over your head. can anyone help me with the secound question? should i put a breather on ...

Re: unknown piece
I don't think its a part of a foot throttle as i see now other parts or a print of anything on the paint.
If it was for a tachometer shouldn't there be a part on the engine? where does the cable for the tacho connect to?
