Oh definitely, I will keep looking until it turns up!
Unfortunately I don't know where it went when it left the farm so exploring that avenue is pretty much a dead end, it looks like the magazines will be the next port of call, one day I will find it!
Cheers,
Will

Re: Whereabouts of WUF 704 Power Major
Good evening guys, I am still on the lookout for my grandfathers old fordson power major WUF704, no luck finding it yet but the search continues, it still hasn't been sold on since 2009 and remains SORN so may be at the back of someone's shed somewhere! Has anyone else ever had any luck tracking dow...

Re: Looking to buy fordson as restoration project
A bitsa is a fordson made up form many bits from other fordsons :( , eg a gearbox from a 56 major and an engine from a 52 major all mated too the back end of a 59 power major. In order to determine if the tractor is a bitsa or not you need to compare the casting codes, if they are all within a month...

Re: Whereabouts of WUF 704 Power Major
Hi Kev, SORN stands for: Statutory Off the Road Notification, it is basically a means of telling the authority's that it will not be driven on the road, thus avoiding any automatic fines for no tax or insurance on a vehicle here in the UK. It would just be good to know what happened to it Boat yard ...

Whereabouts of WUF 704 Power Major
Hello everyone, I am just curious about what happened to my Granddads 1959 Power Major registration: WUF704 and though one of you may be able to shed some light. He bought it new in April 1959 and it stayed on the farm for several years before being traded-in in the late 60’s or 70’s. It was first r...

Re: High clear dexta
There is no reason why it cant be done, there was one on eBay earlier this month (item number:181069628427), by the looks of things it just has larger wheels on the rear and a deeper drop axle on the front, not sure if there is anything done to the gearing to compensate for the change in wheel diame...

Re: Lift arm compatibility
I feared that may be the case
So my search will continue, if not maybe I could manufacture a pair by welding the extra lug on with dissimilar rods then drill it out,
Has anyone done this before???

Lift arm compatibility
Hi I was wondering what lift arms would also fit a super major.
Are the dexta or 1000 series lift arms the same? or were the cross shafts different?
The reason I ask is I am after some lift arms with the extra hole for a PUH
Thanks in advance
Will

Re: Super major hydraulic issues
I took the lid off over the weekend and found that the linkage was indeed seized, I freed it up and adjusted the settings, now it works a treat!
Thank you Brian for your advice it was much appreciated.

Super major hydraulic issues
Hello all, I am looking for someone to point me in the right direction. I bought an October 62 super major last year as a non runner and have spent the last year getting it running; now with a rebuilt engine she is running sweet as a nut. So now my attention had led on to the hydraulics, when in pos...
