Re: Fordson Major rear wheels 14x30

Rims are very good, tyres have plenty of tread bit of cracking, perishing and some small cuts .
They hold air fine and are inflated.
If still interested message me your mobile number and I will send you some picks.

Re: up date on oil pressure

I would give the engine a good service and use 20/50 engine oil and replace the sender with one from a CNH dealer. In my opinion with parts cheaper isn't always better as you usually end up buying twise I'm not a fan of using cheap parts when it comes to engines, breaks and bearings. 15psi at idle is...

Re: lost oil pressure

Have you fitted a oil pressure gauge to the tractor as these can tell you what is going on as it could be main bearings on the crankshaft that are worn. The oil light will come on when the pressure drops below it's set figure which is usually around 3-5psi. My 1959 dexta did exactly the same I check...

what you saw was hot carbon deposits from combustion, you wont see these in day light but they are still there. you must be carefull using tractors in a hay barn for this reason.

you will need to remove the knife for sharpening and this should be done a couple of times a day when mowing. e.g before you start at dinnertime and again if the cut of the grass looks jagged and not clean. and yes a file does work best as your not taking tomuch metal away to get the edge back, go w...

you have oil in your pump if its a super.
there is a priming lever on the feul pump which is mounted on the side of the injection pump, you open the bleeders and pump oil through using the lever on the pump.

if your tractor has a mechanical governor you change the oil at the same time as the engine oil, it uses the same oil as the engine,
if you have a pneumatic governed pump you do not need to do any maintence apart from cleaning the filter capsual.

The bar length is 5Ft and they are heavy, you will need to trailor it with a discovery as it wont fit in the back. I have been using serrated sections now for 3yrs, never had a problem with blockage, i do check them regulary for sharpness if it requires changing it gets changed since they are 50p ea...

Hi Ben,
The flemming topper is great it runs well behind the dexta, stones dont seem to be a problem it eather cuts them in half or runs over the top of them as the sides are adjustable for height.
I have no idea why they are not working i will see if i can get them to work.

i have never had a problem with my finger mower in short or thick crops,
it sounds to me as if the mower is not set correctly or you are not travelling fast enough through the crop or could be going to fast for it to clog.
