Re: Ford 4610 Hydraulic problem

Have finally changed the pump and all is now working fine. Haven't really done enough with it to see how much weight it will lift but it is working.

Re: Ford 4610 Hydraulic problem

Thanks Emiel. The pump is transmission mounted and I am led to believe that there is no intake screen and filters have been changed. I have changed the pressure relief valve with no success and have a replacement pump waiting to be fitted but due to moving to a new farm I have not had the time to sp...

Ford 4610 Hydraulic problem

I am having problems with the hydraulics on my 4610. The lift arms ( also loader and spools) lift very slowly and judder as if there is low oil level (it is full). Not sure what it will lift currently but it will still lift the pickup hitch with a trailer on. The oil filter was changed a few months ...

Re: More on Stabiliser bars

Ben
You may find the 4000 check chains are too long for the dexta and you need to cut a link out of the chain. I know the 5000 chains are longer than the 4000 and the 4000 is a bigger tractor than the dexta.

Re: Floating 3-point Hitch ?

Probably wouldn't matter which one but the turbotiller uses a chain instead of a top link as standard factory spec

Re: Floating 3-point Hitch ?

Replace the top link with a chain. Our Bomford Turbotiller has that setup and it allows the machine to follow ground contours whilst still being mounted although not much ground clearance at the back unless the chain is shortened

Re: Looking for information? Ford 4000

Hi Graham, The thing is that although there are over 1700 members on here you will find that very few are active members and of those the number of people interested in the World Series is low - Major and Dexta seem to be tops. I have quickly checked my workshop manuals and have not been able to see...

Re: 4600/4000 differance

600 series have dry filter accessed through round screw on cover on right side of front cowl. Is his an early model which may have been on the changeover or were export versions different?

Re: 4600/4000 differance

HP is different and another 2 obvious differences are the air filter (dry on 4600, oil bath on 4000) and the hydraulic system (4600 has 2 levers - one position and 1 draft whilst 4000 has one lever and a changeover). I believe the HP increase was achieved by tuning the fuel system but not sure if it...

Re: Dexta FoMoCo PTO Compressor

It may be branded Fomoco but the name Gold Star springs to mind for that compressor. It was purely for blowing up tyres (and slow at that being only a single cylinder). Incidentally I would lengthen the chain so it is horizontal as that makes the unit jump about less (and was the natural position ba...

Don't forget that the battery terminals are different sizes for positive and negative so you should be able to identify the polarity (assuming you haven't removed the cables also :)

British Farming Forum

Not sure how many people on here are / were members of the British Farming Forum but since it was hacked earlier in the week it has disappeared without trace. There is however a new forum at http://thefarmingforum.co.uk which is set up by Clive (a member of BFF) and this has in 2 days gained about 5...
