reversed reduction box
Hello,i have just bought a howard reduction box for a fordson major and i have heard that you can install the box backwards to give more road speed,if anyone has any ideas how to do this please let me know,i can show some images if it would help,many thanks.mike

i carnt workout why your dexta is so slow,we have 4 and the early ones are higher geared,they do nearly 30mph, every dexta ive seen on a road run have been able to do 25-30mph,yours is maybe the golf course model which were lower geared than standard

Hi,super does 25mph,I was just wondering if there was a way to get abit more by changing ratios somewhere.cheers

hello,would it be possibal to fit a lower ratio diff from another fordson or any other tractor in the backend of a dexta to get abit more road speed.many thanks

so the only way for more road speed is to go in to the gearbox and change somthing,do you have any idea what to do or any diaghrams of the gearboxs.Cheers

i have seen a blue grey super major with the faster diff ratio in with a diesel major gearbox,he claims it does 40 mph just trying to get the same result.thanks

so witch major (E1A,DIESEL,POWER,SUPER AND NP SUPER MAJOR) has the fastest out put from the gearbox to create the higher road speed

we have a npsm that does about 16mph but has no number on the top of casting,is there another way to check the diff eg number of teeth on crown and pinion.P.S what ratio is the power major diff,would it make any difference if i put a 3.3 ratio npsm backend in the power major.

Hi there,i have a industrial power major with a 6cyl ford engine in it,i was just wondering would a New performance super major backend with the lower ratio diff make any difference to the road speed of the tractor.Thanks
