Dexta Backhoe?
I'm in the process of purchasing a used New Holland 757c 3 point backhoe and would like to use it on the Dexta. Would it be possible to run it off of the tractors hydraulics? I have one hydraulic line running to the rear of the tractor and need to know where the return line should be piped to. Thank...

Re: Spin-on Oil Filter

See below. zoom Part Number: 51516 UPC Number: 765809515161 Principle Application: Ford/Lincoln/Mercury (81-09), Chrysler/Jeep/Mitsubishi (02-09), Various Mazda (94-13), Various Indus...

Re: Spin-on Oil Filter
At this time I'm using the one that came with the kit. I don't think a vertical filter will drain back like a horizontal filter will. I'll watch the oil pressure gauge the the next time I start it and see how fast the pressure comes up. I know the next time I install a new filter I will fill it with...

Your English is very good. It's my simple mind that gets in the way.
Thanks for your reply and I think I have a good idea of how it works now. Just going to go out see how it works.

Re: What is this for?
Thanks for the reply. Makes sense but the only time the lift control hits the linkage to the flow control is when the handle is all the way up. :scratchhead: Whats the knob do? Would have been nice if they would have explained it with a diagram in the owners manual. I have the manual that came with ...

What is this for?
I've looked in the owners manual and can find no reference to this. Runs between the 3 point control and the hydraulic control on top of the transmission.
Any ideas what it is for?

Re: Spin-on Oil Filter
After an hour and a half pulling a plow no leaks  On order to install this kit you will need shorter bolts or fabricate spacers like I did. If you look close you can see them between the head of the bolt and the filter adapter. The one below comes with two bolts. This http://www.ebay.com/itm/S...

Re: Oil Filter
From what I understand it is not that uncommon for this type of filter to leak. I have an 850 Ford also and I've had that one leak.

Re: Spin-on Oil Filter
It's interesting you would bring this up today as I just installed a kit purchased off of ebay some time ago. I was plowing yesterday when the original filter canister started dumping the engine oil on the ground. :x Fortunately I caught right away. I haven't run it yet today as I need to go to town...

You did a good job on the translation, thank you. :D I never would have figured out that "bog" was body filler. I can promise you that when everything is fixed and your enjoying the Dexta, it will all have been worth it. Happy Birthday and congratulations on the new family member!
You just have to like the Dexta diesels. Being a Yank I didn't follow all of your descriptions but I'm sure by next spring you will have her running like a top and looking good. Nice to have the Wife's support too.

As stated above, take your time. Shopping is half the fun. Ending up with a bad tractor can take all the fun out of it in a hurry.
Good luck with your search.

Re: Painting
is it good practice to use a gasket compound with the gaskets That's a good question. Some say yes and some say no. And the question can really get interesting when it comes to head gaskets. The best answer is to follow the manufacturers recommendations. If the mating surfaces are in factory condit...

Re: Heavy steering
I hope this hasn't already been mentioned as I didn't see it. My Dexta was hard to steer ( turn the wheel). After doing a little reading in the manual I found that one could remove the nut that holds the steering wheel on and poor grease down the shaft. This made a huge difference and is much easier...

Re: Dexta seats
My suspension seat looks like the blue one pictured above but does not have the wrap-around seat back. Just a normal shaped back. I was out digging a plowed field today and the seat worked great. I have an extremely bad back and I felt no discomfort at all. I can find no name on this seat and...

Re: My finished tractor
Most anything is more comfortable than the Dexta's original seat. Like having your backside bolted to the differential.
I made one trip down the field and replaced the original seat. I now have a suspension seat and love it.
