Re: eBay front pto ?!
Well people - thanks for replies - I've been looking and I can't see that it even fits a major ?! I can't see anywhere on the tractor it would fit -- either way around- I did think for a tenner It could be worth it - but without any attachment on my major I don't think it's worth that hassle - got e...

Re: registering major
Hi - I don't think that will work - and dvla will give you a q reg if they bother to do it - you'd best be giving the engine number and casting dates (pictures) to someone who registeres vintage tractors - but if they don't tally up year wise then you won't get original style plate - up to you

Re: replacement gauges
When it comes to the early majors - reproductions are the only viable means of new gauges - on my super I used "new-old stock" (nos) gauges and had then tested accordingly - but this is a hard thing for everyone to do - and seems you're major had different gauges - I would say just hunt around parts...

Re: Super & New Performance Super gauges - differences
Hi Adrian - that German tacho was mine until I sold it tonight - hence matching eBay name :D - I have several tachos - and they are super - but differant cause the early supers used Simms pump therefore the gauge ran normal - minimec pump ran alternative way - what I find annoying is why some tachos...

Re: E1A linkage catch?
Hi that is part of the early extra called "pre-set linkage" it was fitted as a draft control ?! For early majors before the super came in with it all built in - its a simple but effective tool and hard to come by - there should be another part attached to the top cover - a bracket with 2? Metal bars...

Re: Really steaming!
Here's a phrase we can all agree on when it comes to these "tacky" reproductions ------ The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten  But I agree Brian -- I had a injector leak of pipe from a certain "quality" company --- didn't actually line up bet...

Re: Super Major final drive ratio
Hi, I think there is a picture on here somewhere - I seem to recall that is is stamped on where the top cover sits so if you lift the hydraulic cover it's where the gasket sits - failing that it's scribed in to the differential , either way - its not easily visible unless you lift off the hydraulic ...

Re: 3-point max load?
Hi all, I've heard that the max is around the 940kg mark - I have never attempted to get close - I would follow tims point and take a percentage off ( several bucket loads) haha - and then fork it out - but remember that the feed and the weight of the pallet fork system combined must not exceed the ...

Re: more questions sup engine rebuild
I bought the cam from a place in Texas, maybe it is stronger, but either way the engine should last for my uses. Hey you know anyone that has turboed this engine? Doesn't seem like too big of a deal, just thinking out loud. Thanks. Kerry Hi best advice - don't turbo it - I've seen it attempted - an...

Hi - I beleive they were a aftermarket option - don't know much about them - as regards to rarity - I seen one for over £250 - but have never seen one fitted to a tractor - probaly designed for people who couldn't afford the actual fordson fitted extreamly spool lever on there diesel/power major - s...
