Re: Done anything to the Dexta this week then ?

Having got back from being away for 3 weeks, I went out & swept the snow of the Dexta, and she started after the 3rd attempt....!! I believe it was about -8c, so I am very happy with that. The Dexta was used for taking boys sledging, great fun! On the drive back, she developed a high pitched squeali...

Hi landowner... Today, I did the reverse, and towed the dexta with my land rover...more out of curiosity rather than needing too, although the battery was flat and it was easier to tow than to carry the rather heavy battery back to the shed..!! My series 1 80 inch did quite well.....

Anyway - I can now operate the valve with the knob only (no need to resort to the hammer any more - hooray!) I can now also rotate the valve spool, and it is much more "comp...

Hi there - thanks for the response...looking at the drawings, I had also figured it was dirt or corrosion. I will soak in penetrating oil & see what happens.

Once again - many thanks

Kind regards

Aux service valve spool removal?

Hi All I have a 1958 Dexta in fairly original condition. It has the auxiliary service valve under the seat, but no flow adjustment know. The actual knob on the valve spool is missing, and only after 2 days of levering have I been able to move the spool valve at all. I am now able to pull the spool o...
