From the manual the top has to come off. you will need to replace the oil - chicken soup suggests a high water component in the oil!

IMHO do them all while you have the chance! From experience you will need a press, I replaced with the red brand tractor equivalent and they were just fine.

I replaced my old collapsing hoses at once with a kit of proper ones - plenty of clearance.

We can get on 4 layers of 4 and two more on top.
Spring here in Marlborough was abnormally wet - everyone grew too much grass for their stock levels. This field usually yields 300 or so bales - this year over 700!

NZ summer work
Good neighbors had a drama yesterday, he was hospitalised the same day the hay was being made. The call went out and my son had to drive the Dexta while I loaded bales. Never seen a boy so happy despite the work into dark! In the country way, the word spread and quickly there were more workers and v...

It won't go beyond $800 NZ would be my guess, doesn't have the rarity factor they seem to in the UK.

Absolutely, Brian. Drill and split the old retainer but the press was the key to remove the bearing and reinstalling things. Father in law as an ex-engineer delighted in the job and corrected the end float even making some new shims for me!

They must have brought a fair few out here, they crop up regularly on Trade Me the NZ online auction site. Don't know what it would cost to fill and send a container back the way they came!

Best intentions
The 'Chief Banker" of the family told me she wanted to use the Dexta to do a small job, being a cold morning I started it and warmed up the engine to make it easy for her. Unfamiliar with our blue darlings she then closed the fuel tap I had left on, drove off and ran out of fuel on the roadside. Try...

Hi John, didn't see that listing, who carted it South for you... or did you DIY? I've also sourced parts from Dunlops in Ireland, off the net and through local FNH dealer. Don't ignore Millars Tractor Spares in Leeston, I even got a towbar from a dismantler in Hawkes Bay, $20 to courier. Mine has re...

Auxiliary service plate gasket
I seem to remember someone wanting one of these and set out to find a spare one I had to scan, of course a few months later I found it when I wasn't looking and thought I should commit it to the forum. The image is A4 size so should be able to be transferred to gasket material with a little creativi...

End result was Seddon took a pasting - evry home there sustained some damage, some were totalled. A few cracks in buildings in Blenheim, no damage at our place, a little West of Blenheim.

Re: Seddon Earthquake 6.5
A bigger shake today, 6.6. We had kids at a riding lesson at an indoor arena, whole place shook vigorously, ponies panicked, kids jumped off, one kid (not ours) was thrown against a wall and was bruised a bit. A couple of bridges on the main road South to Christchurch were damaged and there were roc...

Re: Seddon Earthquake 6.5
We live just West of Seddon, there were a few lighter quakes the days before the 6.5 but we felt little of them, the geology is very complex with multiple faults in the region so it's a 'when' rather than 'if' around here, like much of the country. When the 6.5 struck we were holidaying beside Lake ...

The seed is viable for decades, Tordon hurts green growth, but you have to keep on at the seedlings until they stop coming up! At least you won't get bored!

Yeah, had and Uncle who worked for a firm growing turf in Suffolk, tyres on their machines damn near bigger than the tractors!
