Re: Ford tw35
Awsome piece of gear. Watch for rot on sq cabs. Porus blocks if water filters arent changed regularly. Front axle pivot wears as they dont get greased. Leaking spool valves on those that were used alot. These are built to last and in my opinion a very good looking tractor. I have had mine for about ...

Re: Fordson dexta engine conversion?
Ive done a thames trader 6 cylinder conversion running about 96hp. Old engine was uneconomical ro repair so fitted that. Makes awell balanced ttactor with low centre of gravity and a huge power to weight ratio. It is correct about the bonnets. They are tapered ro you need to male a new one from scra...

you get a tap with the heli coil kit that taps a bigger size hole. you then screw the coil in and it takes you back to the origonal size.

A super one will fit yes. There is a guy on ebay selling a np one. Will probably come back on this weekend £155. I need one for my project but im not buying it off him as he is one of the most ignorant and aragant men ive ever dealt with. I would rather wait and pay more from someone else.

Re: new fordson super major
Rev counter from back of mechanical governed pump. Rear top.link bracket should pull in at the top pin not either side of yoke like supers. Gearbox should have fomoco cast into left side. Double clutch was still an option with new performance.

The glass bowl should fill up very quickly. There should be a filter in the tank. It may be blocked. Siunds like its drinking the petrol in the carb bowl and running out then filling back up slowly.

Re: grit blasting
The pressure pot is the expensive bit. The rest is a box with a sloped floor. Seal every joint. Plenty glass and light. If you use proper grit you wont need much extraction but if you use sand you wont be able to see a thing.

I made mine from ply. 6ft long 4ft high and 4 ft deep so i can get bonnets and wheel rims in. Lined the inside with 10mm rubber to protect the ply. Them sat that on my pressure pot.

Yes they are fantastic. If budget allows get a pressure fed one not gravity fed. You need a.large compressor aswell. There is no better way of cleaning than blasting.
