Re: Trouble starting when hot!
have you checked the wireing for high resitstance? after starting if there is a hot spot on one of the connections clean it up and try again. If the engine is a bit harder to turn over when hot a bit more power to the starter might cure it?

Re: Super MAjor Brake/Gearbox Problem
I thought the handbrake stopped the gear box turning therefore locking the back wheels. assuming that is true, there would be no bias to one side because of the diff. I have heard that disc brakes are a pain to get right aswell.

it would need to be in parallel with the bulb or you will reduce the current further.

Re: cylinder liners and engine rebuid
I removed one of the pistons today. dosent look too bad. top ring was broken in one place. carbon down to first ring only. con rod bearing has 2 scraches inline with the oil feed in the crank, but not worn through to the copper backing, some minor marks on the crank. the liners are worn very smooth....

Bar mower
I bought a bar mower about a year ago and have been using it this year. I have taken it to a couple of local shows and no one has seen anything like it. It has a swedish makers plate on the side but also has a bamlett sticker accross the guard. Has anyone ever seen, used or know anything about it? h...

Re: Engine starting question
i would just put a jump lead from the "non-earth" terminal on the battery to the glow plug. leave it for 40 seconds and then try to turn it over. dont forget to disconnect the jump lead or you will have a flat battery.

Re: engine oil problem
the cork was well past it. made a thick layer of instant gasket up where the cork should go. seems to be working. i had the pannel off the base of the sump and working through that, wiped a bit more gasket on anywhere that looked like it didnt seal 100% on the inside.

Re: engine oil problem
Think i fixed my dexta's leak! My attempt with sealent round the rear of the sump failed. in the end i found it quite quick and easy to drop the sump. removed radiator and front axle, then put a jack under the sump removed the bolts. worst part of the whole job was breaking the seal between the bloc...

its the solenoid with the button on the base of it. and it mounts to the front of the front fuel tank mount. on the same side as the air filter.
