Re: E27N P6 Wiring Diagram
Hi, Don’t have a diagram for you, but if I were you I would take the diagram from a new major or dexta and use that to wire the charging system correctly. Wiring the starter and ignition switch shouldn’t be very difficult without a diagram. If I remember correctly for the e27n there is not a seperat...

Re: Halfshaft identification and seal help
I’ve done some super rear axles in the past where I needed to modify the seal housings due to the exact same problem. Just cut of the exces part and have no further notice. Did work for me and it sealed also. I assumed it were heavy duty ones as well. Couldn’t get the right type of seal for these on...

Re: kfd conversion
Hi, this looks like the lift cover of a Hanomag R22/27/324 tractor. Also parts of the linkage have a Hanomag appearance. I would think the local blacksmith is responsible for this conversion.

Re: Trailer behind a Major?
Back in the day of the fordsons brakes on a trailer were virtually in existent. Over here low price prevailed safety. Luckily netherlands is flat. Just 5 miles from me in Germany at least inertia brakes are necessary below 8 tonnes. With the speed of a major and a bit of common sense inertia brakes ...

Re: Three point linkage stuck up.
Moisture and lack of use can rust solid the lift shaft. Other possibility is a stuck hydraulic valve or linkage in the lift cover.
You might try to force it down without too much violence. Can the lift shaft still rotate a little?

Re: Choosing and finding a Fordson Major
Looks like a very late super, the new performance super major. That is for most people the most desirable Fordson major. Whether it is expensive or not is difficult to say. IMHO it is a well kept and quite original tractor. I like the cab to be honest and only the starter looks to be aftermarket.

Re: Choosing and finding a Fordson Major
Hi,
A major is a solid engineered tractor. A db also, but far far more complicated.
Find one which is affordable and not too far away. They are all old and neet a bit of tlc every now and then. A new Chinese tractor will need far more attention.

60 is quite high on a major I think.

Re: Good quality replacement parts
Surely all you need is a length of string and a big nut! Put one end of the string against the upper part of the tyre sidewall and suspend the nut so it nearly touches the ground. Measure any gap you can see or move the top of the string away from the tyre until the nut touches the sidewall. Now do...

Hi,
I think John is in the right track. May be you can construct a right angle triangle from timber to measure the wheel in relation to the floor. Measure it on both sides.
In our area many tractors have inclined mudguard due to sticky soil.

Hi bounce,
That’s a horrible story. Replacement quality is problematic unfortunately. I agree with Sandy. Used original mostly is the best option, but unfortunately not always a possibility.

Hi,
Optionally you could ring agriline and ask them for the difference between their 5720 and 5720a sump plug for Fordson major. One would assume one of them is the right size.

Hi,
The old style raised pto has a gear ratio to make the pto slower and have 540 at higher engine rpm. The newer style has a 1:1 gear ratio.
Just check whether in and out have the same number of revs when turning by hand and counting. Or count the number of teeth on the gears.

Re: sump plug
3/4-24 uns should be a nominal diameter of 0.7416” to 07488”. In millimeters that is between 18.83 and 19.01 mm.
Never heard of uns thread before. The measured diameter is a bit lower but to its not a new plug nor do I know the accuracy of the calliper.
