Re: Today I have been mostly.......

I have a top link bracket in the shed so that's sorted.
Tractor had a loader on from new so had the silencer through the bonnet and the smaller bonnet handles so loader didn't catch. Seems to make sense.

Re: very early E1A major rebuild

I can get to the home page, open the link at the lower left for 'fordson manuals', open the 'new major repair guide' but then not see the pages.
Has fordsonlad's archive gone down?

Just asking

very early E1A major rebuild

I'm rebuilding a 1952 diesel major which has been in the family from new. It has undergone various modifications etc to keep it running and I am trying to please the tractor show pedants (and myself) and get it as close as I can to original spec. from the massive pile of parts I have been left and a...

Re: Early major decompressor lever

forgive dragging an old thread up but I'm rebuilding a '52 E1A, is the safest option to just have the decompressor present but disconnected? The man who rebuilt my head (3 years ago) seems to have made the decision for me. What do the pedants at the tractor shows generally say? ah found another thre...

Re: e27n,p6

Aussie Frank, that's the man for 'new' P6 castings, he has them made and machined to original spec. email him via ebay. they are made to order so might take a short while but are spot on.

Re: e27n, p6 parts wanted

Hi, an aquaintance is having these P6 parts re-cast and re-machined in the UK. He had a stand at the Newark tractor show and the Perkins people were having a good look.

email to keithjbuckley@btinternet.com for details.

Fred Dibnah DVD question

Hi, can anyone tell me which episode of Fred's various excursions had him going to Downs's Iron Foundry at Huddersfield?
Google is not coming up with answers, or I'm not asking the right questions.

Cheers,

Re: New price of 1952 E1A diesel major?

I'd noticed the lack of upright exhaust, having blown up the tractor section of photo I can see there's no bracket for the mil loader, so is probably an underswept exhaust showing through from the far side.

cheers, N

New price of 1952 E1A diesel major?

Hi, my grandfather bought a diesel major in 1952 and I think I may have a the original cheque he paid for it with. He also bought a Land Rover off the same dealer that spring. The cheque is for £645 - 13 - 0, would this have been right for a major or a landy? Allan Condie pamphlet says 1955 diesel r...
