Re: Crane for the poor
Hi Rick, no extra weight was needed at the front. At the end of that ramp hung about 150kg: 100kg step, 18kg clamp tool, 25kg chain block. And yes Henk, we did think about safety when creating this. The ramp was secured with wood left and right not to turn sideways. Between ramp and pallet was anti-...

Crane for the poor
Hi, my neighbor had to lift steps for a new stair. The heavy ones weigh about 100kg, so we decided to build a crane. Main part is a ramp to drive a excavator on a trailer. And the special clamp for the stone of course, that part you can rent. http://predecke.auge.de/Traktor/IMG_1544.jpg My not so go...

what is the normal temperature for the thermostat and what would be a hotter one? Are the thermostates the same as in BMC engines (Mini e.g.)?AdrianNPMajor wrote:fit a thermostat that allows the engine to run hotter.

Re: Fit electrics to a trailer lighting board
Hi, i found this website http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx explaining various kinds of connectors. Usually each pin in the connector is wired to the corrosponding wire at the rear lights (e.g. pin for brake to one of the brake wires (which are missing at my super major), pin for left rear ligh...

Re: Fit electrics to a trailer lighting board
Hi Gary, don't know where you are in the world, but e.g. for Germany (and Europe I think) there are ready made boards with light and cable at Ebay for 30-40 Euro. There are sets with two lights and cable, too. For this price you can't do it yourself. http://r.ebay.com/8pi7Ti You only need a plug on ...

Hi Rick, The estate had a contractor in last year who did the giant rectangular bales (used to seeing the straw go in round bales) and the handler had a front mounted aligner which barged them sideways, picked one up, next one set first over, subsequent pair set crossways then when full stood the st...

Hi Pavel,

no problems with heat with these bulbs? Here in Germany they are not allowed, only in sport events (rallye), but always was recommended to use them only when driving, not when standing still.Pavel wrote:allows me to run 120watt bulbs in my headlamps and plough light

Re: running a major in cold weather
Hi, are you talking about a "Sirroco" cabine? something like that, yes. Without the roof, of course. :-) I think I can make one and fix it with a few magnets from old computer hard drives. Water in the fuel is not a problem, I keep the tank full and temperatures in my workshop keep above 0°C. Winter...

running a major in cold weather
Hi, a question to the guys in the colder parts of the word: Is there any problem with the diesel flow running a major in very cold weather? The blow from the cooling ventilator goes around the diesel filter and pump and gives an additional cooling. We have winter diesel here (flowing up to -22°C) bu...

Hi guduell, the dvr2 seems to be for motorcycles an even if it can handle 12amp, it will work always on his limit. I think that's the reason, why the dvr3 is announced for tractors. Ask the manufacturer via email, he can explain the reasons. I was unsure to choose the 11amp or 22amp version. He expl...

Hi Henk, if you look on the top of your regulator, there is a description of the ports. As far as I can see on similar pictures the ports are A-A-F-D-E. On the four port regulator it reads D-E-A-F. D goes to dynamo (the big port there), E is earth, A goes to amperemeter (and so to the rest of the el...

I already got an old defective regulator from my parts dealer to empty out the box an insert the electronic parts.
I think, I can do this conversion myself.

Re: Scene from yesteryear
Hi,
pictures from that time that I know mostly are black/white or one color (green?) is nearly missing. So the quality is too good to be from that time, at least from my point of view (and age, I'm younger than my tractor).
And yes, the condition after one year of use is nearly impossible.
